PW being evacuated through medical channels. He said, he deliberately shot himself in order to surrender.

b. Deployment of PW Own Unit:
113th Div was on an unknown hill (558) approx 7 Km N of YANGPYONG (CS669493). 337th Regt CP was approx 3 Km N of YANGPYONG on an unknown hill in the vic of SINAN-RI. 112th Div CP was approx 2 Km E of 337th Regt CP. 114th Div CP was approx 8 Km N of the rear of 113th Div CP.
Each Army sector was 16 Km wide (E to W)
c. Deployment of Other Units:
50th Army was approx 12 Km W of the 337th Regt, and the 39th 40th Army plus two NKA Brigades to the E of 337th Regt. All CCF forces are N of the HAN River.
Overheard Co CO talking to political leader, stating that the 49th Army was to the rear on the east coast.
d. Mission and Intention:
To defend at all cost, or until reinforcements arrive.
O/a 17 Feb 51, PW Plat Ldr, who attended Bn conference stated that the following was forwarded from Army. After being reinforced by six Armies which will arrive within six weeks, we will attack southward to an arbitrary line running west through SUWON, after which they would wait for spring offensive.
e. Physical Condition of Troops:
All troops were in good physical condition with only a few cases of colds.
f. Air Support:
PW told by Bn political leader that mass air support will come from CHINA.
g. Effect on Air Attack:
Majority of the casualties or damage was effected by arty rather than air attack.
h. Psychological Warfare:
Heard a broadcast 23 Feb 51, however, it was not clear. He picked up surrender leaflets which he produced upon capture.
