2 Mar 51, PW plat was defending the area in the vicinity of Hill 303. About 1700 hours UN Forces attacked and was captured 021900 Mar 51 by 1st Marines. Not recommended for further interrogation. Tactical information limited.
a. Mission: 66th Army mission was to defend HOENGSONG Area (DS 1048).
b. Disposition:
3d Bn CP was at DS 0950. 591st Regt CP was approx 2 Km N of 3d Bn CP. Heard that Bn and Regt CP retreated N 1800 hours just before his capture.

d. Chronology:
Jul 49 - Conscripted into CCF. Formerly in CNA.
O/a 5 Nov 50 - 66th Army crossed YALU River near SINUIJU.
O/a 5 Jan 51 - Army arrived KUMHWA. Here, 197th Div separated from 66th Corps and headed South.
O/a 15 Feb 51 - Div arrived in vicinity HONGCHON (DS 0171) and 591st Regt separated from Div and moved South to defend HOENGSONG (DS 1048) area.
O/a 23 Feb 51 - Regt arrived approximately 4 km NW of HOENGSONG (DS 1048) and set up CP.
O/a 24 Feb 51 - PW Plat separated from Regt and moved up to vicinity of Hill 303 (DS 0950).
2 Mar 51 - In the morning received artillery shelling from UN Forces. About 1700 hours attacked by UN Forces and was captured at 1900 hours.

O/a 15 Feb 51 - Observed 4 US 1/2 ton trucks and about 7 US 21/2 ton trucks at vicinity of HONGCH’ON (DS 0171).
g. Status of Supply; Route of Supply:
Ammo - No resupply. Heard supply came into Regt but not to front line.
Food - Low. Ate one meal a day.
Clothing - What they wore.
Shelter - Dug in mountain.
h. Other Units:
Heard that 198th Div on West flank of 197th Div and 196th Div on rear of 197th Div.
i. Morale:
Low due to shortage of food, clothing and ammo.
j. Most Effective Weapons:
Artillery and air strikes were most effective weapons used by UN Forces.
k. UN PW:
O/a 19 Feb 51 observed American PW on road between HOENGSONG (DS 1048) and HONGCH’ON (DS 0171). They were forced to drive trucks in hauling supplies.
