Surrendered to elements of 3d Bn, 19th RCT. In good physical condition at time of interrogation and very cooperative. Appeared to be intelligent and information considered fairly reliable. Recommended for further interrogation. 5 yr experience with CNA and held rank of Superior Pvt.
a. Chronology:
071300 Mar 51 6th Co was 400 meters N from place of capture in vic of a burned out village (possibly CS 630536). 4th Co, 2d Bn was on hill 800 meters N of 6th Co (possibly Hill 270 CS 629 544). 5th Co was on a hill 800 meters W of 4th Co (possibly Hill 218 CS 618543). 2d Bn Hq located 4 km NW from 4th Co positions. 3d Bn was to the E. 339th Regt, 113th Div located W of PW positions. 112th, 114th Divisions of 38th Army are in reserve. Company commander stated that on 6 Mar 113th Div will be relieved by another division of 38th Army 11 Mar 51.
b. Composition:
38th Army composed of 112th, 113th and 114th Divisions. 113th Div composed of 337th, 338th and 339th Regt. An Arty Bn, Security Co, Engr Co and the Signal Co attached to 113th Div. 2d Bn composed of 3 Rifle Co and 1 HMG Co. HMC Co deactivated just prior to crossing the 38th Parallel.
c. Code Names:
38th Army: “TUNG NAN PU”. 113th Div: “ERISUTUI” (2d Branch Unit). 337th Regt: “SAN CHI TATUI” (37th Bn). 2d Bn, 337th Regt: “ERSHIAO” (2d Plat).

051700 Mar 51 Asst Bn Commander stated strength of 2d Bn 300 men.
At a meeting 1 week ago it was announced that 337th Regt strength 1100 men. At this meeting a political officer stated that the officers realized the hardship of the soldiers but victory is imminent. He announced that the 27th Army Group entered KOREA, equipped with howitzers. At a Bn meeting at RR tunnel CS 615525 (where Bn was formerly located), a political officer stated that 27th Army Group located 5 km from PW position.

Arty Bn: 2 arty pieces (similar to 45mm M-1937 AT Gun). These guns supported whatever Bn is on line. These were observed at 337th Regt Hq.
f. Replacements:
Sqd leader stated 3 days ago 112th, 114th Div received replacements. Approx 2 regt of replacements were assigned to these Div. Replacements wore uniforms with buttons in middle. 113th Div did not received replacements but heard it will be reinforced after being relieved.
g. Intentions:
The only mission of 113th Div known to PW is to hold present position at all cost.
h. Other Units:
50th Army located to W of 339th Regt.
i. US PW:
Observed 40 - 50 US PW prior to crossing 38th parallel. Prisoners will be taken to TUNBEI, CHINA.
