1. PERSONAL DETAILS:
NAME: CHO, Tok Sen (23 (ROKA)

DATE & PLACE OF CAPTURE: 27 Jan 51 20 km N of WONJU

2. ASSESSMENT:
Evaluation:
Source was cooperative in answering questions and information seems to be reliable, but tactical information is limited because he was escaping from enemy.
Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. CIRCUMSTANCES OF CAPTURE:
O/a 23 Nov 50, approx 23 ROK soldiers of 6th & 8th Div were captured by the Chinese Reds at TOKCHON, approx 50 km from KECHON, and were sent to PW camp, approx 8 km N of TOKCHON. PW observed approx 1,200 PW including approx 60 US soldiers at this camp. Americans were kept in different cells.
There were approx 50 NKA soldiers and 50 Chinese Reds as prison guards. Camp CO was a NK officer (Sr Lt).
O/a 28 Nov 50 PW and 6 others escaped, approx 20 km S of TOKCHON when approx 60 prisoners were being evacuated to unk location by Chinese Reds.
O/a 18 Jan 51, PW observed approx 30 Chinese Reds (Identified them by language), armed with rifles walking N 28 km of SEOUL. 25 Jan 51 observed approx 20 armed Chinese Reds walking N,approx 28 Km N of WONJU.
PW was picked up by 23rd Inf Regt, approx 20 km of WONJU.
Morale of the Enemy who were with thee prison camp seems to be low, because of air attack.
O/a 18 Dec 50 PW observed signs on the street in KAESONG: Warning: Contagious diseases (seems to be newly posted).
