1. PERSONAL DETAILS:YUN, Byon Tong (24) Sgt ROKA

2. ASSESSMENT:PW was cooperative but information is limited to hearsay.
3. TACTICAL:Captured by the CCF at PUKCHAN, NK 17 Nov 50 and turned over to the NKA who confined him in jail. During the period of confinement, the NKA tried to talk him into joining their Army, but because of a sprained ankle, he was released after about 15 days and told to care for it. Immediately after he was released from jail, he escaped and came S. When he passed through SEOUL 7 Jan 51, he observed only 5 NKA Security troops, 24 Jan 51 while on a road 8 km N of WONJU, he stopped a soldier to ask directions and learned that this soldier was a messenger from 34th Div. This messenger told him that CCF and Peoples Army were now resting and that all CCF had withdrawn to vic of 38th parallel to rest; so he should turn back and go to the 34th Div 12 km NE of WONJU.
