PW captured while sleeping in a civilian house by ROK Police Force.

a. Strength of Unit:
(1) Original Strength.
Unit Strength - Saw about 2,000 troops (newly conscripted) 15 Dec 50 at YONGGU, N KOREA. Heard more replacements were coming.

(2) Present Strength.
5th Co - 150 troops 25 Jan 51 at ODUSAN.

b. Chronology:
15 Dec 50 - Conscripted at YANGGU, N KOREA.
17 Dec 50 - About 150 troops headed for 38th Parallel.
18 Dec 50 - Arrived 38th Parallel. Night of 18 Dec 50 - 150 troops left S. Traveled only at nights on foot. Hid in mountain at day time. Followed mountain trail all the way to ODUSAN.
25 Jan 51 - Arrived ODUSAN. PW left his plat and slept in nearby house. Captured while he was sleeping.
c. Weapons and Equipment: 3rd Plat, 5th Co, 2nd Bn, 25th Regt had:
1 - US Carbine (carried by Plat Ldr)
3 - US M1 Rifles
1 - Light Machinegun
1 - Mortar (82mm)
5 - PPsh SMG
6 - Japanese rifles (model 38)
Rest were Russian rifles.
Saw about 7 hand grenades.
Each man carried about 300 rounds of ammo.
d. Status of Supply:
No supply came from rear. Procured food in villages. Did not have med supplies.
e. Other Units:
PW heard there were more troops coming from the rear.
f. Morale:
Morale was good when they were in groups, but PW believes individual morale was low. Reason was because they did not want to get killed.
Air strike was the most feared and effective UN wpn. (machinegun strafing, rocket, and especially Napalm bomb)
