3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
2 Feb 50 - Inducted into the NKA. Assigned to the Guard Plat, Arty Bn, 1st Rifle Brig at KANSONG.
25 Jun 50 - 8th Div was organized at KANGNUNG (江陵) with approx 7,000 newly trained men of the 1st Rifle Brig and 2 mos of basic training.
3 Jul 50 - Assigned as guard for the 8th Rifle Div CG and Chief of Staff as they advanced south.
18 Aug 50 - 8th Div CG, C/S and 56 men of the Guard Plat arrived at UISONG (義城) and stayed for a month. PW duty: runner from Div Hq to frontlines.
27 Oct 50 - Retreated from UISONG and arrived MANP’OJIN where the routed 8th Div regrouped with men from other units and Div was officially designated the 26th Rifle Brig.
8 Nov 50 - Due to heavy air attacks, 26th Brig moved to 6km S of OEKWIJIN (外貴鎭). The 5th Rifle Bn stayed in OEKWIJIN.
15 Nov 50 - 26th Brig received battle orders; Arrived in KANGGYE by train.
18 Nov 50 - Advanced to PACKCH’ON (博川) behind the Chinese Communist Forces.
20 Nov 50 - 26th Brig was ordered to defend the west coast.
14 Dec 50 - Arrived intact in P’YONGYANG after fall to CCF on the 6th. Air attacks were vicious.
20 Dec 50 - Arrived YONGGANG (龍岡), fought and routed the ROK troops.
4 Jan 51 - 26th Brig with minor casualties arrived CHINNAMP’O.
7 Jan 51 - Captured by ROK.

Formerly a truck driver for unknown unit, commissioned Sr Lt when 26th Brig was organized.

f. Disposition:
When last seen (7 Jan 50), 26th Brig was in the northern outskirts of CHINNAMP’O.

g. Morale:
Unit’s morale was low chiefly because of its life, that is walk during the night and hide in the mountain and rest during the day.

h. Evacuation and Treatment of Wounded:
Wounded were carried on stretchers to available homes in vicinity, where a aidemen (one to a Co) cares for and gives first aid. The wounded are referred to Medical Officer (approx 10 to a Bn), who takes necessary medical action.

i. Supply:
Ordinarily, each man carried 2 days rations and average of one set of clothing besides the ones he wore. They also carry 70 rounds (average). Ammo depot ordinarily is about 8 - 12 km behind the frontline. Arty shells were transported only during night by ox carts and seldom by trucks.

4. GENERAL:
a. Pay of Personnel:
Pvt - 50 won/month.
Sgt - 150 won/month.
Lt - 1,200 won/month.

b. Weapons Feared Most:
105mm How.
Napalm Bomb.
Strafing.
M-1 Carbine.

c. Propaganda Leaflet:
PW doubted the leaflet, which stated that UN Forces will care for wounded and those who surrender voluntarily.
