Very cooperative and sincere.
CHRONOLOGY:
Mar 41 - Migrated to MANCHURIA with his parents, and farmed in TAK’OU ZOU TZU (大口講子) until Dec 45. His parents were engaged in rice farming. Yearly production was 45 tons.
Dec 45 - Moved to CHANGCHUN (長春). His parents worked in the rice market and he peddled candy on the street. Later he worked in a machine shop as an apprentice for 1 year.
Feb 49 - Departed CHANGCHUN for CHIAN (輯安) and stayed there in a hotel for a month prior to departure for KOREA.
He observed an ammunition plant operated by the CCF while in CHIAN. Type, size, annual production, and the layout of interior were unknown. He was told by the hotel man that all activities within the enclosure was kept secret and under constant guard.
On weekends he saw several Japanese Nationals. He conversed with one of them and was informed that there wee approximately 100 of them in the plant as specialists and technicians. They were supposed to be repatriated to JAPAN but due to their specialized knowledge they were interned and used as technician in the ammunition plant. It was more of a experimental plant than a manufacturing plant. Never during stay in CHIAN did he see any automobiles or an other type of vehicle enter or leave the plant. No railroad tracks were visible within 400 m. The plant was enclosed by an electric wire fence with sentries posted at close intervals.
