2. ASSESSMENT:
Cooperative, but made contradictory remarks. The information was very vague and since PW was only a student, most of the observations were made from only the outside. All measurements approximate. Reliability, fair.

3. CONTENTS:
1. Airfield (known whether military of civilian), located 4km W of ANTUNG RR Station.
2. Locomotive Repair Plant in ANTUNG.
3. Locomotive shed under construction in TASHAHO (大沙河).
4. Steel plate girder RR bridge located 2.5 km N of TASHAHO.

4. CHRONOLOGY:
1939-1946 PW went to ANTUNG-HSTEN, HORYU SON, LAOKEOUXOU when he was 8 years of age (39) and entered an elementary school in ANTUNG when he was 9 years old. ANTUNG was located 38km SSH until Aug 45. After Aug 45, civilians were not allowed on train. First observed Russian troops in ANTUNG in Dec 45. They wore crossed rifles but PW does not recall the color of the epaulets, nor their unit number. There were Russian soldiers in YAO LUNG PAI (老龍背) but further details, unknown.

AIRFIELD
Obs: 1944 (one day)
Name of target and location: Does not know the name of this airfield, but states that it was located about 4km W of the ANTUNG RR Station and about 2km N of the narrow gauge RR running NE/SW between ANTUNG and TA-TUNG-KOU (大東講).
Dimensions: This airfield was oval, reassuring about 2.5km x 2km.
Runway and Surface: Observed one runway running NNE/SSW but the width or construction material was unknown. The color of the runway was silver-grey. Does not know, the length of the runway but estimates it to be between 1½ and 2km.
Access: Observed one asphalt road about 5 or 6m wide leading into the airfield from the E side of the field (See sketch 2).
Building: Observed 5 concrete buildings with camouflage paint on the E side of the field. The hangar measured 300m x 100m x 30m, office and warehouse measured 200m x 25m x 25m, and the three (3) unidentified buildings measured 6m x 6m x 15m (See sketch).
Aircraft dispersal points: Unknown.
Obstruction: None (This airfield was surrounded by cultivated land).
Technical facilities: There was one windsock on top of the office and warehouse building and three (3) 20m high steel antenna (traverse) located in a triangle, 50m apart on the E side of the office and warehouse building. (See sketches #1 and #2 for location and layout of the airfield). Further details unknown.

LOCOMOTIVE REPAIR PLANT:
ANTUNG
Obs: 1940-45
Name of target and location: Commonly called ANTUNG Locomotive Repair Plant. Located about 300m NE of the ANTUNG-RR Station and about 300m W of the steel overpass over the railroad tracks.
Observed this locomotive plant twice a day for about 6 years from the train he was going to school on, in ANTUNG. He has never seen the inside of this building but he observed locomotives going in and out of this building many times. The last time PW observed this locomotive plant was about May 46.
Description: One story rectangular concrete building 45m x 10m x 16m with flat concrete roof. Further details, unknown. (See sketch #3 for location and surrounding of plant.)

LOCOMOTIVE SHED UNDER CONSTRUCTION:
TASHAKOU
Name of target and location: Does not know the name of the locomotive shed. This shed under construction was located about 250m NE of the TASHAKOU RR Station and about 2.5km S of the steel RR bridge which was about 200m long and 3m wide (See sketch #1 for location of TASHAKOU).
Observation: Apr 46. Observed this locomotive shed under construction only a few times and the last time was Apr 46. Thinks this was to be a locomotive shed because he saw some rails running into this shed area but does not recall the number of rails. The actual construction of the locomotive shed is believed to have started in about Jan 46. The cement foundation was already completed. The foundation was rectangular shape. The width of the reinforced concrete wall which was being constructed on this S side was about 15m. The ground work for this construction was started about Jun 45. Further details unknown.
Observed three concrete tanks about 7m in diameter and exposed about 1.3m above the ground. Depth unknown. These tanks were located about 350m E of the TASHAKOU RR Station. Observed one steel pipe about 25cm in diameter leading from the river located to the E of the tank to the tank but does not know what method was used to pump water into the tanks. This observation was made from a point next to the tank. These tanks were placed in a triangle about 50m apart.
PW thinks that this water was being used for locomotives. No further details were known.

STEEL PLATE GIRDER RR BRIDEGE:
2.5km N of TAISANA:
Observed a steel plate girder RR bridge about 200m long and 3m wide located about 2.5km N of TASHAKOU RR Station. There were about 3 oval shape concrete pillars measuring about 4.5m x 1.5m at the base and 3m x 1m at the top. These pillars were spaced about 50m or 60m apart. This bridge was built about 8m above water level. The water under the bridge was about 1m deep at the deepest point. The width of the stream was about 100m. Further details unknown.
