2. ASSESSMENT:
Uncooperative. Memory poor. Reliability - Poor.

3. AA:
a. Computer - “CHIHWIKIGU” (指揮器具) possible nomenclature for computer.
(1) Operated by 10 men. No sketches available.
(2) Computer connected to guns by a wire cable 1 cm in diameter laid 15 cm underground.
(3) “CHIHWIKIGU” (指揮器具) was said to be made in the USSR.

b. 85mm AA Gun:
(1) Guns made in 1943.
(2) Manufactured in USSR.
(3) Two types of ammo - one uncolored. Use unknown, the other painted black was for AA use.
(4) 4 x 85mm guns to a Plat.
(5) 7 men per gun crew.
(6) Duties of gun crew as follows:
(a) CHOJUNSU (狙準手): Horizontal traverse operator. 360° revolution.
(b) CHANGT’ANSU (裝彈手): Puts round into chamber and fires by pulling a lever.
(c) P’YOJOKSU (標的手): Operates a knob graduated r30 to zero to -30 at intervals of one. Each interval is further divided into ten units.
(d) KODO CHOJUNSU (高度 照準手): Vertical traverse operator. Barrel traverses from zero to 85° at unknown intervals. Operates crank to setting given from Sqd Ldr who receives order from Plat Ldr.
(e) Ammo Carrier - length of shell 75 cm. 4 shells per box (80 x 50 x 20 cm)
(f) Ammo Carrier.
(g) Gun Crew Chief - Receives verbal commands from Plat Ldr and relays commands to crew members.
(7) Guns towed by vehicles.
(8) 3 minutes to prepare at stationary position to go into action.
(9) 20 rd/min fire rate.
(10) Maximum altitude of shell, 15,000 m.
(11) Taught that 85mm can be used against ground targets.
(12) Burst Radius - 100 m.
(13) Flak burst around aircraft but no direct hits were observed.

c. “CHIKIGU” (指器具):
Used with 85mm and 37mm AA guns. Used to locate aircraft. Method unknown. Base range finder 5m from “CHIKIGU”. Dimension of base range finder - 2m long, 20 cm diameter, mounted on tripod. Base range finder operated by 3 men.

d. “CHIHWIKIGU” (指揮器具):
Used with 85mm AA gun for accurate fire against aircraft. Two wheel trailer (1.5 x 1 x 1m) with trailer hook. Four individual leads from unit to AA gun - 1 cm diameter buried 15 cm underground.
PW heard that AA gun can be fired by electricity and that electrical fire is more accurate. Power source unknown.

e. PW heard of radar at P’YONGYANG o/a Sep 50 from a fellow soldier.
PW description - Aircraft emits radio waves which locate dogs and chickens. Therefore all dogs and chickens were killed by the NKA (sic).
