1 Aug 50 - Arrived SINUIJU by train for HARBIN via MUKDEN with a group of Koreans of approx regt size.
4 Aug 50 - Arrived P’YONGYANG by train.
5 Aug 50 - Designated 33rd Regt, 17th Div, I Corps. PW assigned to SMC Co, 33rd Regt as messenger at P’YONGYANG as Pvt.
5 Sep 50 - Completed one month basic training at P’YONGYANG.
6 Sec 50 - 33rd Regt departed from P’YONGYANG by train. Remainder of 17th Div had departed sometime earlier.
9 Sep 50 - Arrived KAESONG (開城) by train.
14 Sep 50 - Arrived SEOUL on foot.
17 Sep 50 - Arrived YANGSU-RI (兩水里) on foot. Boarded train and departed YANGSU-RI but at point 2km S, 1st Bn of 33rd Regt abandoned train because of air attack.
22 Sep 50 - Arrived WONJU (原州) on foot.
23 Sep 50 - Departed WONJU.
25 Sep 50 - Arrived KURYONG-NI (九龍里)
26 Sep 50 - SMG Co continued southwards but PW was left behind with sore foot and sent to SEOUL via YANGSU-RI by train.
28 Sep 50 - Retreat of rear units began.
4 Oct 50 - Arrived KUMGONG-NI (金谷里). Bn of 33rd Regt fought against the ROK 6th Div. After battle, PW assigned to Special Co, directly attached to 33rd Regt. During the night, 33rd Regt retreated.
30 Oct 50 - Arrived CHJANGJIN (長津). Blankets and jackets were issued.
4 Nov 50 - Arrived KANGGYE (江界).
8 Nov 50 - Departed KANGGYE by train.
9 nov 50 - Arrived MANP’OJIN (滿浦鎭). 10 days rest granted. Was issued complete set of Chinese uniforms.
19 Nov 50 - PW reassigned to 3rd Sqd, 1st plat, 6th Co, 2nd Bn, 105th Div at MANP’OJIN.
22 Nov 50 - Reassigned to 3rd Sqd, 1st Plat, 6th Co, 2nd Bn, 33rd Regt, 17th Div.
2 Dec 50 - 33rd Regt arrived HOAK-DONG (浩岳洞). 33rd Regt redesignated 2nd Regt.
4 Dec 50 - 60 young soldiers, including PW, capable of speaking fluent Chinese were assembled at HOAK-DONG.
6 Dec 50 - 60 soldiers arrived KUSONG (龜城). Stayed two days here as four were wounded by air attack.
8 Dec 50 - Departed KUSONG on foot
9 Dec 50 - Arrived PAKCH’ON (博川).
13 Dec 50 - Arrived P’YONGYANG.
14 Dec 50 - 60 men reassigned to I Corps, directly attached Recon Bn. PW assigned 3rd Sqd, 1st Plat, 1st Co, Recon Bn. 5 days were spent here learning scouting tactics.
18 Dec 50 - Recon Bn departed P’YONGYANG.
29 Dec 50 - Arrived KAESONG (開城).
30 Dec 50 - PW promoted to Cpl.
1 Jan 51 - Recon Bn departed KAESONG.
9 Jan 51 - Arrived SEOUL. Recon Bn stationed SONGBUK-DONG (城北洞). 1st Corps Hq stationed KAHOE-DONG (嘉会洞) in the home of KIM, Song Su (金性洙).
11 Jan 51 - 4 men departed for recon patrol. Arrived SUWON (水原).
12 Jan 51 - Arrived OSAN (烏山).
13 Jan 51 - Returned to SUWON.
15 Jan 51 - Departed SUWON and arrived SEOUL in morning. Reported to I Corps Hq.
17 Jan 51 - Departed SEOUL. Arrived SIHUNG (始興) with one man.
18 Jan 51 - Arrived ANYANG (安養). Found advance party (30 men) of Recon Bn here.
22 Jan 51 - PW took a wounded man to SEOUL.
24 Jan 51 - Assigned as runner for Recon Bn commander.
31 Jan 51 - Assigned runner of CO Military Operation Section, Recon Bn. While on way to replace scouts at frontline PW was captured by the NK Guard Unit ad YONGDUNGP’O (永登浦). Held one night.
2 Feb 51 - Departed YONGDUNGP’O. On way to ANYANG met patrol of 17th Div. Ordered to return to unit. While on his way, was captured.

17th Div was organized at P’YONGYANG on 5 Aug 50. 33rd Regt of 17th Div was formed in MUKDEN, MANCHRIA in Jul 50. On 2 Dec 50, 33rd Regt was redesignated 2nd Regt at HOAK-DONG.

17 Jan 51, I Corps Hq was located at KAHOE-DONG (嘉会洞) SEOUL, in the home of KIM, Song Su (金性洙). On same date, Recon Bn was located at SONGBUK-DONG (城北洞), SEOUL.
g. Morale:
Very high due to propaganda and no retreats.
h. Replacements:
No replacements were received after 14 Dec 50.
f. Supply:
Each man carried 5 days rations and 30 rd for SMG.
j. Weapons Feared Most:
Strafing and artillery.
k. Foreign Advisors:
In Sep 50, the 17th Div was inspected twice by a Russian Major wearing tank insignia.
l. Epidemics:
As of 9 Jan 51, PW heard that typhus cases were numerous among the civil populace of SONGBUK-DONG (城北洞), SEOUL
