FIELD REPORT (2 Div - LDI - 0068) 16 January 1951

1. PERSONAL DETAILS:
PW NAME: KIM Te Ho, Pvt
UNIT: 10th Div, 27th Regt, Med Co
DUTY: Aid man
DATE AND PLACE OF CAPTURE: 15 Jan 51 POK PYONG-NI DR1984

2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was cooperative and information fairly reliable.
Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
PW was assigned to the Med Co of the 10th Div as aidman 5 Nov 50 at HWA CHON.
10th Div left HWA CHON on 26 Dec 50 reaching SUDONG approx location 4 Kms N of POK PYONG-NI on 11 Jan 51. The route taken by the 10th Div was unknown to PW, however, the unit always traveled at night. Enroute the 10th Div fought with UN Forces several times. Casualties were approx 200 in the 27th Regt.
PW was left behind at SUDONG 11 Jan 51 when he became ill, while the 10th Div continued on in the general direction of ANDONG.
8 Jan 51 he heard from the hospital doctor (Lt) that the objective of the 10th Div was ANDONG. Med Co had 70 personnel.
27th Regt had the estimate strength of 2500.
10th Div consists of the 25th, 27th, 29th and the Artillery Regt.
All troops were armed with rifles (80 rds ea or SMGs (200 rds each.)
27th Regt had 20 LMGs, and the Artillery Regt had 10 x 82mm mortars.

b. Personalities: 27th Regt Co: KAN San Ho, Lt Col
Med Co CO: LEE Chong Ku, Lt Col
27th Regt had approx 100 frostbite cases each day. These cases were treated by applying iodine and most of the cases were light and did not hamper them from marching. However, serious cases were left behind in villages in care of the villagers. PW observed approx 100 of these serious cases.
