PW voluntarily surrendered to 21st RCT. PW was cooperative but below average intelligence. PW was farmer at ICHON CT1562 prior to induction into NKA 10 Dec 50. Not recommended for further interrogation.
PW was assigned to 31st Div, 2nd Regt, 1st Bn, 3rd Co on 10 Dec 50 without benefit of training. At HWACHON CT8717 PW deserted but could not get out of city so volunteered for 39th Unit. 39th Unit departed HWACHON 28 Dec for TAEJON via HONGCHON DS0272 (o/a 5 Jan), HOENGSONG DS0148 (7 Jan), YANGDONG-MYON (24 km of YANGPYONG), UNCHON-NI (8 km N of YOJU 16 Jan). Between HWACHON and HONGCHON met 31st, 10th, 12th, 9th, and 6th NK Divs moving S. From HONGCHON observed no CCF or NK trps. Observed no tnks, hvy wpns, or vehicles enroute.

2. Observed 10 ROK PW’s at HWACHON on 25 Dec 1950.
3. Twice picked up UN leaflets. Once at UNCHON. PW unable to read leaflets.
4. PW only knows that the 39th Unit is to go to TAEJON.
