PW was given a medical release by the NKA 11 Dec 50. Enroute to his home in NAEGONG-NI CS8213 captured at ICH’ON CS6227. At time of interrogation suffering from mild fever. Suffering from hereditary disease (possible venereal). Possessed two medical release papers issued by NK medics. Subject was of below average intelligence and very reluctant in answering questions due to lapse of memory. Information obtained should be assessed accordingly.
a. Chronology:
April 50 failed to pass ROKA physical examination. Conscripted into NKA at NAEGONG-NI 10 Aug 50, assigned to 1st NK Div o/a 1 Nov 50. Approx Co strength of wounded trps of 12th NK Div departed HWACHANG-MYON 20 Nov for KANGGYE via P’YONGNAMJIN. Enroute at P’YONG-NAMJIN approx 100 men who had recuperated assigned to V NK Corps. Remaining wounded trps (88) arrived 2 km S of KANGGYE 072400 Dec. Stayed overnight. Departed location 082100 Dec 50 arrived KANGGYE 082200 Dec 50. Immediately consulted NKA medical officer. On completion of examination given medical papers stating nature of disease. Stayed KANGGYE two days, unestimated NK trps observed. 11 Dec received papers issued by CHAKANG-DO Peoples Committee to return home. Departed KANGGYE via CHONCHON, HUICHON, YANGDOK, TOKCH’ON, KOKSAN BT9795, YONCH’ON CT3118, UIJONGBU CS2778. Enroute to YONCH’ON observed unestimated no. of CCF and NK trps (date and location u/k). Enroute observed no tanks or hvy wpns. At UIJONGBU 151000 Jan 51 observed one CCF soldier and no NK trps. Departed UIJONGBU 151000 Jan 51 arrived u/k village 2 km NE of SEOUL 151700 Jan 51. Enroute observed 10 CCF troops armed with rifles at u/k location 151200 Jan 51. Departed u/k village 160900 Jan 51 bypassing SEOUL heading southeasterly arriving u/k village 16 Jan 51. Departed u/k village 17 Jan 51 for ICH’ON. Enroute from SEOUL to u/k village observed no CCF or NK trps. 171700 Jan 51 observed 150 NK trps armed with 1 LMG, 50 PPSH SMGs and rifles 20 km N of ICH’ON. No tanks, hvy wpns, or vehicles observed. 190900 Jan 51 observed 100 CCF troops armed with rifles approx 3 km NW of ICH’ON on main road to SEOUL.
