PW was cooperative but information was very limited.
Information seems fairly reliable.

PW heard from a fellow soldier that the V Corps was activated Oct 50 while at NAMHUNG (phonetic)(in Northeast KOREA).

4. LOCATION AND ACTIVITIES OF UNIT:
PW did not see other NK Units while traveling South from NAMHUNG to WONJU.
While traveling from NAMHUNG to PYONGGANG between 10 Oct 50 to d/u Dec 50, they did not know that US Troops were occupying North KOREA.

5. PERSONAL AND UNIT HISTORY:
Conscripted into the 667th Unit, 1st Bn, 1st Co, 2nd Plat, 2nd Sqd 25 Sep 50 at KANGGYE (BA9737). Received basic infantry training for 15 days at KANGGYE. The 667th Unit departed from KANGGYE on 30 Sep 50 and marched to NAMHUNG (phonetic) (in Northeast KOREA), arriving there on the same day. The 667th unit was redesignated as the 6th Div, 15th Regt, on 30 Sep 50 at NAMHUNG. The 667th Unit, 15th Regt left NAMHUNG by foot on 10 Oct 50 and arrived at POKKYE RI (CT4955) on d/u Dec 50. Route taken between NAMHUNG and POKKYE RI was unknown.

7. FOOD AND AMMO SUPPLIES:
Ammo was received only once at NAMHUNG on 10 Oct 50.
Food was gathered form villagers.

8. MORALE:
The morale in the unit was low because they were forced to march for a long distance in the miserable cold.

9. CCF:
PW did not see any CCF troops in North KOREA but heard that they had entered KOREA.
PW's unit was not a remnant or reconstituted organization.

10. PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE:
a. Did you surrender voluntarily? If so, why?
(1) PW voluntarily surrendered to the US troops because he wanted to save himself.
b. Did you see any United Nation leaflets or hear any loudspeaker broadcast?
(1) PW saw UN leaflets at P'YONGGANG o/a 2 Jan 51.
c. Can you describe what they said?
(1) The leaflets stated: We will feed you well and let you sleep in comfortable places.
d. What was your reaction to them?
(1) After reading the leaflets, PW believed that it was telling the truth.
e. Did you hear other soldiers discuss leaflets or broadcasts?
(1) PW did not know how the others felt upon reading the leaflets.
