31st Div composed of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Regts.
3rd Regt composed of 3 Inf Bns.
3rd Bn composed of the 7th, 8th, and 9th Rifle Cos.
8th Co composed of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Rifle Plats.
2nd Plat composed of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd sqds with an average of 10 x men per sqd.

The objective of the 3rd Regt, 31st Div, was SEOUL via CH'UNCHON as of 27 Dec 50.
PW was inducted into the 31st NKA Div on 27 Jul 50 at SEOUL. Received no training because of constant attacks by UN aircraft.
PW departed from SEOUL on 13 Sep 50, marched with the 31st Div and arrived at ICH'ON (CT1562) d/u.
At ICH'ON the 31st Div was reorganized during Sep, Oct, and Nov 50. Personnel were issued winter uniforms during the latter part of Sep 50, were assigned to specific units of the 31st Div during the first part of Oct 50, and were issued weapons and ammunition during the latter part of Oct 50. Most of the men in the 31st Div were South Koreans conscripted by the division shortly before it retreated from SEOUL to North Korea during the first part of Sep 50.
PW departed from ICH'ON during Nov 50, marched with the 3rd Regt of the 31st Div and arrived in the vicinity of CH'UNCHON (direction from CH'UNCHON unknown) o/a 23 Dec 50.
On 27 Dec 50, PW deserted while the 31st Div was attacking ROK unit. He surrendered immediately when he contacted some ROK soldiers 271600 I Dec 50.
The 31st Div is composed almost entirely of South Koreans conscripted before the NKA retreated to North Korea in Sep 50.
Received an average of three bowls of rice daily since the 3rd Regt, 31st Div departed from ICH'ON during Nov 50. The source of the ration is unknown.
Personnel in the 3rd Regt, 31st Div have little ammo. No ammo supplies have been delivered to the regiment since it left ICH'ON during Nov 50.
3rd Regt, 31st Div personnel have low morale because they are cold and do not like to fight.
