a. Chronology:
16 Mar 47: Entered the HAMHUNG (咸興) RR Security Unit Training Center (鐵道保安隊訓練所).
6 May 47: Assigned to the NAJIN (羅津) as a Pvt.
15 Jun 47: Assigned to the Guard Squad of the tunnel between NAJIN (羅津) and KWANGOK (寬谷).
21 Apr 48: Assigned to the Guard Squad of the YONGDAE Tunnel (龍台) 40km S of SONGJIN (城津) as squad leader.
26 Feb 49: Transferred to the Guard Squad of the WONP’YON Tunnel (院平) as squad leader.
30 Mar 50: Imprisoned for one month due to neglect of his duty.
1 May 50: Assigned to the CHONGJIN RR Security Battalion (淸津鐵道警備大隊).
3 Jul 50: Squad leader of the JIPYONG Squad in the vicinity of YANGPYONG (楊平).
20 Sep 50: Escaped from his unit in South KOREA and traveled northward.
14 Nov 50: Arrived in CH’OSAN (楚山) and was inducted into a group of recruits.
15 Nov 50: Commissioned Junior Lt and assigned as 2nd Plat Ldr, 3rd Co, 1st Corp Hq, Engr Bn.
1 Dec 50: Ⅰ Corps moved southward.
12 Dec 50: Ⅰ Corps Hq Engr Bn arrived P’YONGYANG and helped the 47th Div Hq Engr Bn to rebuild the NUNGNADO Bridge (綾羅島橋) inside of P’YONGYANG.
23 Dec 50: Engr Bn repaired vehicle shelters in the mountains N of SARIWON (沙里院) which were to be used as 1st Corps CP.
26 Dec 50: PW patrolled the KORANGPO-RI Bridge (高浪浦里橋) with the 2nd Plat (9 EM). 6 men deserted.
27 Dec 50: Captured by ROKA Patrol with his 3 remaining men while returning to his unit from patrol at KORANGP’O (高浪浦).
b. Unit Organization and Strength:
T/O – 244. Present Strength (26 Dec 50) – 145
Note: Political Section of Bn is in charge of Political Training and Military Police.
c. Unit History:
Ⅰ Corps was reorganized at CHOSAN (楚山) 15 Nov 50. It consists of 3 Inf Divs (7th, 8th and 47th). The members of the reorganized Ⅰ Corps are:
1. NK Soldiers withdrawn from the battle of SK.
2. Soldiers of NK Security Army.
3. Men under 45 who were members of the various NK political parties.
When last observed (26 Dec 50) 47th Div was 12km S of the KAESONG perimeter with 7th Div and 8th Div in the rear of the 87th Div.
d. Intentions:
Ⅰ Corps was to attack SEOUL, 27 Dec 50.
e. Morale:
Low. Due to fear of air attacks and the fact that the Engr Bn was made up of infantry men.
f. Replacements:
No replacements were received since reorganization on 15 Nov 50.
g. Evacuation and Treatment of Wounded:
Bn aid stations were located approx 5000m behind the lines. Light wounds were treated, while the seriously wounded were evacuated by ox-cart.
h. Supply:
Each man carried 2 days rations and 100 rds of small arms ammo.

j. Equipment of Engr Bn (as of 29 Nov 50):
Since it is an engineer unit their weapons were poorer than those of the infantry.

k. Reconstruction of the NUNGNADO Bridge:
The length of the NUNGNADO Bridge in P’YONGYANG was 90m. 60m of it was destroyed. Ⅰ Corps Hq Engr Bn helped the 47th Div Engr Bn rebuild the above bridge from 15 Dec 50 to 19 Dec 50. The total number of persons required for the work was 500 men.
The reconstructed bridge was crossed by trucks loaded with rice. The CO of Engr Bn estimated that the bridge might be usable only for a month.
