3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
10 Sep 50: Inducted into NKA Training Center located at SUWON (水原), KOREA. Received five days training. Trainees were all Koreans, and instructors were all Koreans who had served in CCF in CHINA.
15 Sep 50: Unit designated the 12th Div with a strength of approx 5,000. Div departed SUWON on foot for KANGGYE (江界), KOREA because UN Forces Landed at INCH’ON (仁川), KOREA.
10 Oct 50: 12th Div arrived at KANGGYE (江界), KOREA. Rested at a primary school for about ten days. Received tactical training in an open field in the suburbs. Quartered in villager’s houses. Div issued small arms.
4 Nov 50: 12th Div, with the same strength departed KANGGYE (江界), KOREA for combat missions in South KOREA.
26 Dec 50: 12th Div crossed the 38th parallel via YANGGU (  ), KOREA. Advanced about 12km. 2nd Regt encountered ROK unit. Exchanged fire for about twenty minutes and pushed into HONGCH’ON (洪川), KOREA.
1 Jan 51: PW, with six other men, was captured by a ROK unit 4km north of HONGCH’ON (洪川), KOREA because PW and six others fell behind the line due to sore feet. PW did not know what happened to the 12th Div thereafter.
