a. Chronology:
Apr 50 - Inducted into the NKA at SUKCH’ON (肅川), KOREA. Assigned to the Communication Plat, 76mm Arty Btry, Arty Bn, 29th Regt, 10th Div. Received basic training for about three months.
10 Jul 50 - 10th Div moved to P’YONGYANG. Received advanced training for one month.
10 Aug 50 - 10th Div ordered to join with other units in the vicinity of NAKTONG River (洛東江).
5 Sep 50 - 10th Div arrived in the vicinity of NAKTONG River (洛東江). Engaged UN forces in the vicinity of MYONP’UNG (玄風)
19 Sep 50 - With high personnel losses (approx 1,000), and loss of Arty pieces, 10th Div retreated north.
25 Oct 50 - Regrouped in the vicinity of HWACH’ON (華川). Div received approx 1,000 replacements. Entire 10th Div remained in mountain areas near HWACH’ON (華川) for a month.
2 Dec 50 - Entire 10th Div advanced to CHUNCH’ON (■川) and engaged ROK forces in the vicinity of CHUNCH’ON.
5 Jan 51 - Advanced to WONJU (原州).
15 Jan 51 - 10th Div advanced to TANYANG (丹陽) and engaged UN forces for two days near TANYANG. 10th Div departed TANYANG for ANDONG (安東). PW remained in a field hospital located approx 4km N of TANYANG.
22 Jan 51 - The field hospital was attacked by UN forces. PW was captured along with 70 patients.
b. Unit Organization and Strength:
10th Div was part of the II Corps. As of 25 Oct 50, II Corps believed to consist of 10th, 6th and 3rd Div’s.
The 10th Div included the 25th, 27th, 29th Regts and a Hqs Unit.
Hqs Unit consisted of NCO Training Bn, Medical Bn, Signal Bn, Transportation Bn and Engineer Bn, as of 25 Oct 50.

10th Div was originally organized 21 Apr 50 in the vicinity of SUKCH’ON (肅川), KOREA with approx 1,000 troops (majority were recent conscripts). The II Corps was originally organized (6th, 3rd and 10th Div’s) in the vicinity of HWACH’ON (華川), KOREA. (Hearsay)

Standard telegraphic code was used by the NK Army as of May 50 when PW was in Communication Training Plat, 76mm Arty Co, 29th Regt, 10th Div.
g. Intention:
10th Div was to attack ANDONG (安東) around 20 Jan 51 and to reach TAEGU (大邱).
h. Morale:
Morale is low because of lack of support fire and ammo for small arms or artillery pieces.
i. Replacements:
No replacements were received after 25 Oct 50 when 1,000 conscripts arrived.
j. Evacuation and Treatment of Wounded:
Div field hospital was located approx 4km N of TANYANG (丹陽) behind the lines. Light wounds were treated. When 10th Div advanced to ANDONG (安東) 15 Jan 51, the field hospital was left behind. Seriously wounded were usually carried on stretchers to the rear and received proper care in villages behind the line.
k. Supply:
Each man carried 5 days rations and 100 rounds. No ammo depots known.
