13 Apr 50 Inducted at SUKCH’ON (書川) and assigned to 100th Div, 27th Regt, 3rd Bn, HMG Co, 1st Plat, 3rd Sqd.
14 Jun 50 Only 3rd Bn departed SUKCH’ON by rail for P’YONGGANG (平康).
17 Jun 50 3rd Bn arr P’YONGGANG. PW and 80 men engaged in guard duty. Remainders of 3rd Bn engaged in hauling arty shells and hand grenades to SEOUL (서울).
7 Jul 50 3rd Bn dep P’YONGGANG by rail for SEOUL. Joined by 1st and 2nd Bns while enroute.
9 Jul 50 27th Regt arr SEOUL.
10 Jul 50 27th Regt dep SEOUL by rail to SUWON (水原). Arr same day.
15 Jul 50 27th Regt dep SUWON for SONGJU via TAEJON (大田). (Travelled during the nite only and on foot.)
5 Aug 50 27th Regt arr SONGJU and deployed along the NAKTONG River (洛東江).
15 Sep 50 27th Regt retreated toward the mountainous area in the NE section of KOREA due to the UN offensive.
Early Dec 50 27th Regt arr at HWACH’ON (黃川). Rested for 2 days, then headed South toward CHUNCH’ON (春川). 1st and 2nd Bns headed toward KAP’YONG (加平). 3rd Bn remained behind as reserve. Due to a counter offensive by the UN forces the 27th Regt retreated to HWACH’ON. 27th Regt then engaged in guard duty along the 38th parallel.
Late Dec 50 27th Regt dep on foot for ANDONG (安東). Heard from Plat Ldr that the entire II Corps would attack ANDONG. No other units observed except the 29th Regt of 10th Div.
14 Jan 51 27th and 29th Regts engaged UN troops near YECH’ON (醴泉) for 2 days. PW and fellow soldier deserted.
17 Jan 51 surrendered to police at SANRI-MYON near YECH’ON.
