Due to extreme fatigue from continuous walking, was forced to drop out 6 Feb 51 in vic of SAN TUK. Attempting to catch up after resting, PW was captured.

4. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. T/O & E And Strength:
27 Jan 51 the 9th Div, holding a defensive position in CHUCHON-NI, was ordered by II Corps Hq to withdraw to ANHUNG-MYON (DS3251) and rest. Div had an estimated strength of 5,000 men, armed with either rifles (200 rd each), carbines (200 rd each), PPSH SMG (150 rd each) and Russian rifles (150 rd each). In addition they had 40 LMG (rd unk), 20 HMG (rd unk), 10x82mm mortars, 20x60mm mortars and 6x14.5mm Anti-tank rifles (rd unk). Figures on Hv Wpn are fairly accurate because PW read reports and observed these weapons during the march to ANHUNG-MYON.

b. Chronology:
9th Div rested for 7 days in ANHUNG-MYON; receiving Political training; then ordered to PANGNIM-NI (DS5042) by II Corps Hq, located in YUDONG-NI (DS2551) 4 Feb 51.
During rest period, heard from his superior officer (Sr Lt) that the 6th Div was with the II Corps Hq. 31st Div was in PYONGCHANG (DS4632) 15 days ago.
Enroute to PANGNIM-NI, observed the 2nd Div in vic of UNGYO-RI (DS2751) and was told by a Sr Lt that the Div was moving to KANGNUNG (DS9179).
When the 6th Div arrived in PANGNIM-NI 5 Feb 51 0400 hr, observed elements of the 27th Div engaged in battle. After talking to several soldiers at 2-3 different places, PW found that the whole 27th Div was in that area.
6 Feb 51, the 6th Div was ordered to move to TANNAE-MYON. (This info was obtained from CO before he was left behind). Prior to leaving, the 27th Div was taking a defensive position and there was no indication of moving. PW dropped out enroute to TANNAE-MYON.
