2. ASSESSMENT:
Although the Korean doctor at TAEJON PW Enclosure claimed PW had a common cold, while in an NKA field hospital, the doctor told him that he had abdominal typhus.
PW was in hospital between 25 Jan to 9 Feb 51.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
Inducted into the 43rd Div, Reserve Div 16 Aug 50 at HAEJU (YC 3713). Received no training, and became an officer immediately because he was a telephone repairman (specialist).
Div was deactivated at HOENGSONG on 8 Jan 48. Between 8 Jan 48 to 16 Feb 50 the time was consumed in the distribution of the troops of the deactivated unit.
The 2nd Regt of Div was placed in 7th Div and one Regt was placed in 6th Div at HOENGSONG 16 Feb 50.

 Chiefly Russian and US field telephones were repaired. Parts were taken from broken telephones. Receivers were the most easily broken piece.
 Telegraph keys were also repaired by the wireless section.

 Infantry Units T/O & E was unknown to PW. He claimed that he was in the rear and only repaired telephones.

Ammo source and supplies were unknown. PW claimed that he was not issued a weapon.
Food was secured by the Intendance Platoon. Source was unknown.

Telegraph was utilized between Corps - Division and Regiment.

f. Moral and Battle Effectiveness:
The morale in the Maintenance Shop was low because they lacked food and clothing.

g. Medical:
Between 25 Jan 51 to 9 Feb 51 at the YONGCHUNG-RI field hospital, PW saw 500 x men from the 7th Div with abdominal typhus.
PW received injections 3 times at the hospital which lowered the fever.
At the hospital PW saw 70 to 80 soldiers with frost bitten feet. Treatment was given to them but type of medicine was unknown.

h. Psychological Warfare:
PW surrendered to the ROK because he was sick.
PW did not see any leaflets.
