PW was in good physical condition at time of interrogation. Cooperative but of below average intelligence. PW does not know Korean place names nor direction. Held rank of Pfc in Nationalist Army. Information obtained is considered fairly reliable.
a. Chronology:
112th Div entered KOREA o/a 18 Oct 50. 335th Regt crossed the 38th parallel o/a 4 Jan 51. 1 day after crossing 38th parallel, PW took sick and was evacuated to Div Medics 12 km N of SEOUL. Hospitalized for approx 15 days. Upon discharge rejoined 335th Regt at KWANJU 4 days after arriving unit, advancing 24 km S to unknown location. Sighted UN forces and withdrew 8 km NE. Returned to former position following day and again withdrew 3 km NE (location unk). Following day Regt withdrew 24 km NNE (1 nights march) to unk location. Following day 1st Bn advanced 8 km S to unk location. Stayed at this location 5 days and was replaced by unk Bn from 339th Regt. 1st Bn returned to Regt Hq location and advanced 8 km S to CS 567388 2 days later. 1st Bn engaged UN troops 2 days after arriving at this location. PW was captured when position was overrun by UN forces. Casualties: 10 KIA, 30 WIA in 1st Bn. 1st Bn CP located on hill behind CS 567388 at time of capture. PW also states 112th Div CP located 12 km NEof CS 567388.

Told to defend positions.
e. Morale:
Morale is low due to false statements of superiors. 50 percent of troops have no desire to fight.
f. Leaflets:
Has picked up leaflets but was not able to read due to lack of schooling. Talked with intimate friends and intended to surrender. However, due to being shot at by UN forces while attempting to surrender, fear to show themselves.
g. Broadcast:
Heard broadcast 3 days ago but was unable to hear clearly. PW believed that broadcast had same contents as leaflets and thought to surrender. However, fear to show themselves.
h. Reinforcements:
Heard reinforcements were due, but does not know when.
