2. ASSESSMENT:
PW voluntarily surrendered to elements of 19th ROK Regt. Was in good physical condition at time of interrogation. PW was cooperative and of average intelligence. PW was not able to give Korean place names. Information obtained considered fairly reliable.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
PW a Pvt in CAN captured by CCF and KWANG SI SHENG (CHINA) approx a year ago. Assigned to 38th Army, 112th Div, 334th Regt, 3rd Bn, 9th Co.
38th Army entered KOREA o/a 22 Oct 50. 334th Regt crossed 38th Parallel o/a 1 Jan 51. Regt crossed the HAN River 10 Jan 51 and advanced 12 km N to unknown village. 15 days later 334th Regt advanced 24 km SSE to unk location. Engaged UN forces there for 2 days. 3rd Bn casualties, 10 KIA, 20 WIA during this engagement. Regt withdrew 8 km N to 1 km N of CS 564412 arriving approx 13 days ago. 334th Regt fought in this vic for 13 days. Casualties received during this period: 30 KIA and 45 WIA in 3rd Bn. 13 Feb 51 PW heard 334th Regt and 112th Div CP went 2 km NW of 3rd Bn (1 km N of CS 564412) on road side. 1st, 2nd and 3rd Bn of 335th Regt on right of 3rd Bn, 334th Regt.

Morale is low due to incessant air strikes, barrages. 50 percent of troops have no desire to fight.

g. UN Leaflets:
PW has picked up and read leaflets. Thought to desert at first opportunity. 50 percent of troops have thought to desert their unit but are unable due to fear of being shot by own troops during daylight and being shot by UN forces at night hours.

h. Broadcasts:
PW had not heard broadcast, however, heard from friend 4 days ago of a plane making broadcast to CCF troops.

i. UN PW
Observed 6 US PW at KUNU-RI approx 2 months ago. Heard they were to be taken to CHINA.
