1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was a former SK resident and forcibly conscripted into NKA. Cooperative and talked freely but info limited.
Education: None
Physical Condition: Good
Reliability: Good

3. CHRONOLOGY:
7 AUG 50 - Conscripted at HAEJU, and assigned to 7th Div. Received 1 wk of basic tng. 300 recruits followed main elements of 7th Div to CHINJU.
Sep 50 - 7th Div engaged UN forces, suffered hvy casualties and made a disorderly retreat.
Oct 50 - PW in a group of approx 1,000 troops arr P’YONGYANG. Here they were reorganized and the group was formed into 3 Bn.
20 Dec 50 - During their movement south, the unit met elements of the 24th NK Div near the 38th Parallel and received winter clothing.
2 Feb 51 - Group arr at a hill in vic of HOENGSONG and PW was issued an old Russ rifle and 150 rd of ammo. To date only portions of the unit had rifles.
5 Feb 51 - PW deserted and was captured the following day.

7. MORALE:
Morale among troops of PW unit was low , due to their constant movement without adequate food and clothing and also because of the UN air strafing and bombings.
They are afraid to surrender because they have been told that they would be killed if captured by UN Forces.
PW obs leaflets but was not permitted to read them.
