PW surrendered with 4 others including the squad leader. Squad leader carried a white flag.

b. Unit Location:
445th Regimental Hq is approx 9 km NNE from the location where he was captured. Hq is located in the hills west of a road. The 149th Div was said to be located 3 km south of the 446th Regt Hq. The 3rd Bn Hq was located about 2 km south of the 446th Regt but 30 Jan 51, it was dispatched 12 km SSW of the above position to reinforce the line.
c. Unit Mission:
To defend the vicinity of where PW surrendered. However, PW overheard a conversation between the Company Political Officer, Assistant Company Commander of the 8th Co, and plat ldr of the 1st plat that his mission was to hold the position, and that a large reinforcement would arrive within two hr. This conversation was overheard at around 1800-2000, 31 Jan 51.
d. Identification and Location of Adjacent Units:
The 447th Regt Hq is said to be about 2km north of where PW was captured. The location of 445th Regt is not known for sure but thought to be 3 km NE of the 447th Regiment.
c. Weapons other than small arms:
1. Mortar squad, 8th Co - 2 x 60mm mortars.
2. 2. 446th Regt - Unknown number of 82mm mortars.
3. 149 Div - Unknown number of 92mm infantry guns (possibly 75mm How type 92).
f. Reinforcements:
1st and 2nd Bn of the 446th Regt, as much as the PW knows, are still located in 446th Regt area. (12 km NNE of CS 301341)
