PW was cooperative and of average intelligence. Reliability - Fair.
a. Chronology:
14 Jul 50 - Inducted into the NKA and assigned to the 3rd Plat, 1st Co, Reserve 2nd Bn, 7th Div at SEOUL. Received the rank of M/Sgt.
16 Jul 50 - 7th Div departed from SEOUL on foot.
16 Aug 50 - Arrived at KYONGJU (慶州). During the march from SEOUL to KYONGJU, PW received military training.
16 Sep 50 - 7th Div started retreating.
3 Dec 50 - 7th Div arrived at YANGGU (楊口). PW became ill and spent 17 days here. 7th Div departed to an unknown area.
20 Dec 50 - PW was temporarily transferred to a Guerrilla Unit and was assigned to the Recon Unit as CO at YANGGU.
21 Dec 50 - Guerrilla Unit departed from YANGGU on foot.
23 Jan 51 - Arrived in the vicinity of TANYANG (丹陽). Attacked TANYANG once but were beaten off. PW became ill and stayed in the mountains.
6 Feb 51 - PW surrendered to the ROK 2nd Div, 31st Regt, Intelligence Unit.
b. Unit Organization and Strength:
This Guerrilla Unit was called the “Korean People’s Guerrilla Unit, South Army, Victory Division” (朝鮮人民遊擊隊南軍部).
All movements of the Guerrilla Unit were controlled by II Corps. All communication was by runners between the Corps Hq and unit.
Strength:
Total strength was 730 soldiers.

8 x 60mm mortars
2 HMG (US)
1 Bazooka (US)
13 LMG (majority Russian)

d. Disposition:
When last observed, this Guerrilla Unit was located approx. 20km N of TANYANG (丹陽) in the vicinity of CHANGNIN (長林).
e. Intention:
Cut supply routes of the UN Forces. Definite area of operation unknown.
f. Morale:
Morale low due to lack of food; frequent air attacks; severe frostbite; lack of warm clothing and epidemics.
g. Medical:
All wounded and ill soldiers were left behind to shift for themselves. Those who could not move were killed by their own men. Approx 20 men died of typhus.
h. Supply:
Lived off the land.
