PW cooperative and intelligent. Reliability - Fair.
a. Chronology:
28 Jul 50 - Inducted into NKA at P'YONGYANG and attended OCS for one month.
28 Aug 50 - 60 graduates from OCS came by truck to SEOUL.
2 Sep 50 - 15 officers including PW ordered to take a Co of soldiers (approx 120 men) to the I Corps Hq which was located at SANGJU (尙州).
13 Sep 50 - Arrived SANGJU (尙州), however, I Corps Hq had moved to HYOPCH'ON (陜川), so they went there.
24 Sep 50 - Arrived HYOPCH'ON and found that I Corps had retreated the day before their arrival so the officers and men separated.
30 Sep 50 - 3 officers and 6 men (including PW) reached TAEJON (大田) and 2 officers were captured by a UN force.
1 Nov 50 - After walking along the mountains, the men got separated and PW reached KUMHWA (金化) by himself and was put in a collecting point for stragglers.
14 Jan 51 - Assigned to Communication Plat, 2nd Regt, 31st Div, II Corps as a Plat Ldr in the vicinity of YONGWOL (寧越).
18 Jan 51 - II Corps after leaving KUMHWA (金化) 15 Dec 50 reached YONGWOL. Here PW got sick and stayed in a farmer's house while the II Corps retreated.
21 Jan 51 - Discovered by ROK unit and captured.

h. OCS Training Schedule:
(1) 28 Jul 50:
Entered School at SADONG (沙洞). There were 150 men in the Communication Co. High school graduates and college men were chosen for this school.
(2) 29 Jul 50 - 24 Aug 50:
PW received training on operation and maintenance of Russian switchboards, types ПK-10, K-10 and ПK-30. Also learned how to string wire and operate and maintain field telephones, Russian type UNA I-31.
PW trained in tactics and operations concerning a communications unit and learned how to operate a rifle, SMG and pistol.
(3) Length of course -176 hours.
(4) Instructors were all NK officers.
