2. ASSESSMENT:
PW appeared to be in good physical condition at time of interrogation. PW was a farmer prior to entering the CNA. PW was very cooperative, however, information was limited. Information obtained is considered fairly reliable Not recommended for further interrogation.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Unit Organization, Strength and Equipment:
50th Army composed of the 149th Div and two other Div. 149th Div composed of the 445th, 446th, 447th Regt, a Guard Co and other unknown attached units. 445th Regt composed of 3 Inf Bn. 2nd Bn composed of 3 Rifle Co and one HMG Co. 6th Co composed of 3 Rifle Plat. 3rd Plat composed of 3 Rifle Squads. The HMG Co attached to 2nd Bn Hq composed of 3 HMG Plat.

(IN: Bangalore torpedoes used to destroy tanks and steel bridges. When used against tanks, it is placed on the road and camouflaged. It is detonated by pulling a wire attached to the charge.)

b. Dispositions:
The 2nd Bn CP and the 9th Co CP were located approx 1 km E of CS3633, as of 29 Jan 51.

c. Casualties:
Co was attacked constantly, by air during the day and artillery by night, from 30 Jan 51 - 31 Jan 51, which caused an estimated 20 casualties.

d. Morale:
Morale of PW unit was very low due to the following reasons:
(1) 60-70% of the men detested war and wanted to return to their homes.
(2) Severe UN air strikes.
(3) Former CNA soldiers are ill treated in comparison with regular CCF troops.

e. Chronology:
PW served in the CNA for approx 1year (Mar 48-Oct 49). PW captured by the CCF in Oct 49 and was immediately integrated into his preset unit at SZECHWAN (四 川). O/a 15 Nov 50, the 149th Div left ANTUNG and crossed the YALU River in SINUIJU. PW stated that his unit crossed the CHONGCHONG River over a wooden bridge (exact location unk). Route of march to SEOUL unknown. PW stated that his unit rested in SEOUL for 2 days then marched to vic CS3633, when he was apprehended by elements of the 15th RCT, 3rd Div, 31 Jan 51.

f. Food and Ammo Supplies:
Food was procured locally and the men were fed twice a day. Each Rifleman received 73 rd of ammo and 3 hand grenades in HUPEI (湖北). No ammo was issued since the unit came to KOREA.

g. Psychological Warfare:
PW did not see any UN leaflets.

h. Foreign Technicians:
PW stated that one Chinese interpreter (Korean) was attached to each Co.

i. Medical:
PW was never given any type of immunization. The most common disease in PW Co was malaria and influenza. The 9th Co had three cases of malaria and two cases of influenza. Treatment is insufficient due to shortage of medical supplies. PW stated that he became afflicted with malaria o/a 15 Jan 51 and was treated by the medics who gave him with pills (type unknown), one pill per day for 3 days.
