PW was cooperative. Reliability - Fair. Dates - Poor.
2 Jan 50 - Conscripted at HAEJU and received 6 mo of basic Inf tng. While in tng, PW was assigned to the 7th Regt, 2nd Bn, 1st Co, 2nd Plat, 3rd Sqd.
25 Jun 50 - 7th was redesigned the 7th Div with strength of 4,000. Dep HAEJU for NANGA, near HYOPCHON, SK.
25 Jul 50 - Div arr NANGA, Committed in actions.
Late Sep 50 - Div retreated north.
10 Oct 50 - Approx 3,000 arr P’YONGYANG.
25 Nov 50 - 7th Div dep P’YONGYANG for WONSAN but by-passed it due to presence of UN troops and continued south.
30 Jan 51 - 7th Div arr HONGCHON via CHORWON and YANGGU.
5 Feb 51 - 7th Div dep HONGCHON for HOENGSONG and engaged UN Forces. PW Bn dispersed and source captured.

7th Div composed of 3 Regt, Recon Unit, Med Unit, Guard Unit, and a political Section. Each Regt composed of 3 Bn, each BN of 3 Co, each Co consisted of 3 Plat, and each Plat of 3 Sqd.
2nd Co: 30 men - 5 M-1 with 85 rd ea, 2 carbines with 68 rd ea, and 2 US : SMG M-3” with 15 rd ea, Russ rifles.
1st Plat: 15 〃 (1 Off) - 1 DR LMG with 2 drums, 1 pistol, 3 PPSH SMG with 2 drums, 4 Russ carbines with 100 rd ea, and 5 Russ rifles with 100 rd ea.
1st Sqd: 3 〃 - 2 Russ rifles with 100 rd ea, 1 PPSH SMG with 2 drums.
2nd Bn: Unknown - 3 x 82mm mortars 98 (Russ) with 200 shells, 3 HMG with 1,000 rd ea.
When PW captured he had 1 Russ rifle and 100 rd ammo. Initial issue was 150 rd.
Men carried one week ration of rice-cakes and “KIM-CHEE”.
No re-supply.
1 Feb 51 at HONGCHON approx 300 recent conscripts from the 38th Div were received.
Wounded were treated at a field hosp located within the Div Hq. Transported on litters. All Med carried medical kits and were armed.
The 27th Div was deployed on the left while 6th Div was on the right. Unk number of CCF deployed in the rear of the 5th Corps (hearsay, 5 Feb 51).
Morale was low, due to fighting a losing cause. Also no resupply of ammo.
