1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

2. ASSESSMENT:
PW cooperative but seemed very unobservant. Information limited but appears to be reliable.

1st Regt: 3 Rifle Bn, Signal Plat, Recon Plat and Supply Plat

2nd Plat: 3 Rifle Sqd (each Squad had approx 7 men)

2nd Co:
Had an unknown number of LMG in addition to equipment previously mentioned.
No other weapons were observed.

4. LOCATION AND ACTIVITIES OF UNITS:
1st Regt of 9th Div, II Corps, arrived in PEYONGCHANG Area (DS4636) 1 Feb 51.

5. PERSONAL AND UNIT HISTORY:
PW conscripted 28 Jan 50 into Border Constabulary Guard Unit (國境警備) at CHUKCHON NI (YC0922). There were approx 1,000 troops in unit.
After receiving about 1 month of infantry basic training at CHUKCHON NI, PW and 500 others from guard unit moved to PODONG (approx 4 km east of CHUKCHON NI), where PW received same type of training for about two months.
PW unit guarded border along the 38th Parallel until the outbreak of war Jun 50.
PW assigned to 2nd Regt, 9th Div, at KUNPA SAN (군파산) when unit advanced southward.
2nd Regt fought its way south, arriving NAKTONG River Jul 50.
After 2nd Regt was disorganized (date unk) near NAKTONG River, PW and 5 others from PW Plat retreated northward through TAEJON (YC3164) and CHOCHIWON (CR4852), to PYONGGANG (CT5253).
After about 200 troops regrouped in PYONGGANG, PW and group departed PYONGGANG, passing through KUMHWA (CT6538) and CHORWON (CT4335) and arriving at unk place on 38th Parallel.
PW immediately assigned II Corps, 9th Div, 1st Regt, 3rd Bn, 2nd Co, 2nd Plat, 3rd Sqd.
After remaining at 38th Parallel 10 days, 1st Regt advanced southward through PYONGCHANG to YONGWOL (DS6415).
PW separated from 3rd Bn of 1st Regt before arriving YONGWOL because of illness.
While in a village, PW was wounded by bomb fragments and captured by UN Troops o/a 3 Feb 51.

6. FOOD, AMMO AND OTHER SUPPLIES:
Daily rations adequate. Source of food unknown.

7. SIGNAL:
Field telephone used for communication between Co and Bn Hq.

8. MORALE AND BATTLE EFFECTIVENESS:
Morale low among troops because of lack of weapons and ammunition.

9. MEDICAL:
No diseases observed in PW unit.
PW heard of no frost bite or frozen feet.

10. PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE:
