PW seemed rather angry during the interrogation. PW was previously interrogated at TAEJON and WONJU. Reliability - poor.
a. Chronology:
17 Jul 49: Inducted into the ROK Army, assigned to the 2nd Div, 16th Regt, 2nd Bn, 8th Co, 1st Plat, 2nd Sqd as a Pvt, at CH’ONJU (淸州). Received basic training for about 45 days.
20 Aug 49: 16th Regt engaged in several campaigns from Aug 49 to Apr 50 in the vicinity of T’AEBAEK Mountains (太白山脈). Combat was against NK guerillas.
20 Jun 50: ROK 2nd Div participated in combat in the UIJONGBU (議政府) area. Four days later ROK 2nd Div retreated from UIJONGBU to SEOUL, where Div was scattered.
3 Jul 50: 16th Regt assembled at WONJU (原州), approx 1,000 in strength. 16th Regt retreated from WONJU to SUWON (水原) during the period of 3 Jul to 20 Jul 50.
10 Aug 50: 2nd Div was redesignated to 8th Div. 16th Regt’s designation remained unchanged. 8th Div was located in the ANDONG (安東) area.
15 Aug 50: PW promoted to J/Sgt. Until 24th Aug 50, 8th Div was engaged in combat in area around ANDONG (安東).
24 Aug 50: 16th Regt retreated from ANDONG (安東) area. NAKTONG (洛東江) River bridge was blown up by the 16th Regt before PW crossed. Trying to find some means of crossing the NAKTONG, PW was wounded and captured by the NKA, 7th Div, 1st Regt, with 120 other men including his CO. After three days, PW and 30 others were forced to go to KIGYE (杞溪) where NKA 7th Div, 2nd Regt was located.
15 Sep 50: NKA 7th Div, 2nd Regt began retreating. PWs were moved to KANGGYE (江界) by truck.
25 Nov 50: 30 PWs arrived at KANGGYE (江界) and were given 15 days rest. 12 PWs were inducted into the NKA and assigned to the 12th Div, 2nd Regt, Medical Plat as stretcher bearer.
5 Dec 50: 2nd Regt Received orders to move behind enemy lines to HONGCH’ON (洪川).
25 Dec 50: Arrived HONGSONG (洪城) by foot and then crossed the 38th parallel.
31 Dec 50: 2nd Regt was stationed in a small village located in vicinity of HONGSONG (洪城), and while eating breakfast PW was captured by US soldiers with about 20 others.

Directly attached to the 12th Div were the following:
Engineer Bn, Recon Bn, Mortar Bn, Medical Center, Signal Bn, and Sanitation Unit.
2nd Regt consisted of the 504 Bn, 505 Bn, and 506 Bn. Each Bn consisted of four (4) companies.
