8 Sep 50: Inducted into the North Korean Volunteer Army at SEOUL.
29 Sep 50: Assigned to Medical Company, 1st regt, 18th Div as Pvt at UIJONGBU (議政府). Unit departed UIJONGBU (議政府) on foot for PUNGSAN (豊山).
25 Oct 50: Was left behind by his unit at SACH’ANG-NI (社倉里).
28 Nov 50: Assigned to Medical Plat, 2nd Bn, 6th regt, 2nd Div, as M/Sgt at YUDAM-NI (柳潭里). Unit left YUDAM-NI (柳潭里) for KUMCH’ON (金泉).
15 Dec 50: 2nd Div arrived KUMHWA (金化).
20 Dec 50: Crossed the 38th parallel south of HWACH’ON (華川).
26 Dec 50: 4th Regt, 2nd Div engaged ROK 22nd Regt in the vicinity of HONGCH’ON (洪川).
27 Dec 50: PW captured.

c. Unit History:
25 June 1950, 2nd Div invaded South KOREA from north of CHUNCH’ON (春川). After heavy losses in the retreated in Sep 50, the unit was reorganized on 28 Nov 1950 in the vicinity of YUDAM-NI (柳潭里). It now consists of 3 Inf Regts (4th, 6th and 17th) and an Arty Regt plus other attached units. On 16 December 1950 1st Bn and 3rd Bn of the 6th Regt were transferred to the 17th Regt and 2nd Bn to the 4th Regt.

g. Intentions:
NKA, IX (Sic) Corps is trying to penetrate the UN Forces defense line and occupy the PUSAN area. All of NKA like to avoid fighting against UN Forces and are continuing to come down southward along the T’AEBAEK mountain chain (太白山脈). The first objective of 2nd Div is KUMCH’ON (金泉). Their intentions in KUMCH’ON are to destroy UN military installation, supply route and communications.
h. Morale: (2nd Div)
Low because of lack of artillery and air support and a decline of physical strength due to the lack of food. There is a lack of replacements and due to the lack of medical facilities, all of the wounded are destined to die.
i. Replacements:
No replacements were received since reorganization on 28 November 1950 at YUDAM-NI (柳潭里).
j. Evacuation and Treatment of Wounded:
Battalion aid stations were located approx 500m behind the lines. Light wounds were limited to only bandages without any medicine, and the seriously wounded were left behind.
k. Supply:
At time of reorganization, EM were supplied winter equipment, and 3 grenades (including anti-tank grenade) 300 rounds of ammunition for rifles, 300 rounds ammunition for machine gun, but no ammunition for mortars.
