1. ASSESSMENT:
Information, although limited, seems reliable.

2. T/O & E OF PW’S UNIT:
Regt'l Supply Co: 23 troops - Weapons & Equipment:
1 x 2½ Ton truck
1 x Horse-drawn wagon
4 x Ox carts
22 - M1891/30 Rifles
60 rounds per rifle


3. DISPOSITION OF UNIT:
The 45th Regt was located about 8 Kms East of YONGCHON 8 Sep 50.
The 50th Regt on 8 Sep 50, was fighting in the mountainous area 20 Kms North of YONGCHON.
The 15th Div Hq and the 45th Regt's ammo dump were located in an area 6 Kms North of YONGCHON.
The Division supply unit was last known to be 8 Kms North of YONGCHON (8 Sep 50).
The Div Arty was seen traveling toward the 45th Regt 8 Kms East of YONGCHON.

4. PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:
Inducted 15 Aug 50, at PUNGPYONG with 150 others. On 16 Aug they marched to PYONGHAN where they were joined by 450 other newly inducted.
Between 16 Aug 50 and 18 Aug 50 the troops were given communist indoctrination training. On 18 Aug 50, the group was designated the POMPYONG Unit and marched at night to PANGMIN, arriving on 19 Aug 50.
On 19 Aug 50, the POMPYONG Unit marched by night to HANWHOM, arrived 20 Aug 50. On 20 Aug 50, the unit marched by night and arrived at WONJU 21 Aug 50. At WONGJU, the unit was joined by 100 new inductees and the unit was redesignated to the 1st Replacement Bn.
The 1st Replacement Bn received training at WONGJU, until 25 Aug 50 (close order dril, no weapons). On 26 Aug 50, the 1st Repl Bn marched by night and arrived at CHECHON on 27 Aug 50. From CHECHON the Bn marched by night to TANGYANG (arrive 28 Aug 50), ONGJU, (arrived 29 Aug 50); ANDONG (30 Aug 50); UISONG, (arrived 31 Aug 50).
At UISONG, the informant, and 80 others were left behind to join the 45th Regt’s Supply Co, while the 1st Repl Bn left for YONGCHON to join the 45th Regt.
On 3 Sep 50, the informant joined the 45th Regt's Supply Co at YONGCHON. He was taken prisoner on 8 Sep 50, 1 Km East of YONGCHON while attempting to deliver rice to the 45th Regt.

5. ARMOR:
On 8 Sep 50, two (2) self propelled guns were observed going East of YONGCHON.

6. ARTILLERY:
About 15 trucks with 120mm mortars and 76mm guns attached were observed going toward KYONGJU from YONGCHON on 8 Sep 50.

7. FOOD & AMMO:
The 45th Regt’s food and ammo supply was handled by the Regimental Supply Co. The supply company had a rice collecting point located 6 Kms North of YONGCHON. Troops ware dispatched to search every house for rice in the newly occupied territory. The rice was brought by wagons to the collecting point for distribution to the Regt.
The ammo for the regiment came from the supply point located 6 Kms North of YONGCHON. It was placed in the dry drainage ditch along the road, and covered with branches for concealment.
One (1) truck was used to haul ammo to the Regiment.
The Regiment's ammo dump received its supply from the Division ammo dump located 8 Kms North of YONGCHON (2 Kms North of Regt ammo dump).
As of 8 Sep 50, there was about one (1) truck load of artillery and mortar shells at the regt’s ammo dump (no small arms ammo).
The divisional ammo dump was similar to the regimental ammo dump; the only difference was quantity.
The supply company delivered one (1) truck load of ammo to the regiment daily,

8. REPLACEMENTS:
The informant was one of the 700 replacements that came to the 45th Regt on 31 Aug 50.
Wounded troops were evacuated to the rear through channels to Div Hq. After recovery they were returned to their original unit for front line duty.
The informant heard that there are 8,000 wounded troops at YONGJU and 10,000 at ANDONG.

9. ENEMY INTENTIONS:
The troops were told to fight to the last man. If captured the troops were told that they would be killed.
The informant heard that the CCF will aid the North Korean Army. The mission ot the 15th Div is to take KYONJU and attack TAEGU from the Eastern flank.
