3. T/O & E OF PW'S UNIT:1st Division composed of three (3) rifle regiments and an artillery regiment.
1st Regiment composed of three (3) rifle battalions, a signal company, a mortar unit, and a 76 mm artillery unit.
2nd Regiment composed of three (3) rifle companies, HMG company, signal platoon, and a mortar unit.
4. DISPOSITION OF ABOVE UNITS:Battalion Headquarter located 1 km east of TAESU DONG (大水洞) on Hill 58.
5. ESTIMATED STRENGTH OF ABOVE UNIT:2nd Bn, 1st Regt, 1st Div: Original Strength 800 men. Strength (26 Aug 50) - 30 men.
(Casualties suffered from artillery fire.)

7. PERSONAL & UNIT HISTORY:Inducted 13 Jul 49 at HARBIN, MANCHURIA. Sent immediately to 6th Division in SINUIJU. Trained at SINUIJU from Aug 49 to Mar 50. Training included combat tactics and political. During Mar 50, transferred to 1st Regt, 1st Div at KUMCHON. At KUMCHON troops engaged in building barracks. PW taken ill and hospitalized at KUMCHON. Discharged from hospital on 9 Jul 50 and to join his unit, he travelled through SEOUL, CHUNGJU, and UISONG. Joined his unit at Hill 58 near TAESU DONG (大水洞) where the unit was reorganized on 23 Aug 50. Informant and one other were captured on 261400 Aug 50 near TAESU DONG by ROK, 1st Div. Used as K.P. with ROK 1st Div until 3 Sep 50.
8. ARMOR:Three (3) T-34 tanks observed near UISONG 25 Aug 50. Heard tanks were attached to the 8th Division.
9. FOOD & AMMO SUPPLY:Ammo was transported by SK civilians with “A” frames, Mortar ammo was supplied in great quantity.
10. REPLACEMENTS:Hearsay: Approximately 150 men (S Korean and N Koreans) joined 1st Regiment as replacements on 28 Aug 50.
11. ENEMY INTENTION:Objective of 1st Division was TAEGU.
12. MORALE:Morale among recruits was low because of inexperience.
