Physical condition good; attitude, very cooperative.
3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:PW was conscripted into NKPA 12 Aug 50 at YOSU (麗水). The training was at YOSU RR Station. The training was limited from 10 to 30 minutes of closed-order drill due to extensive bombing and strafing. During aerial attacks all 30 of the conscripts hid in the tunnel about ½ km E of RR station. 30 conscripts departed YOSU 27 Aug 50 marched - arrived KWANGYANG (光陽) 28 Aug 50. Departed KWANGYANG 28 Aug 50 - marched - arrived CHINJU (晉州) 29 Aug 50. Departed CHINJU 29 Aug 50 - marched - arrived UIRYONG (宜寧) 31 Aug 50. Separated from unit and surrendered to ROK unit.

Above was a replacement unit.
b. Last known composition of unit:
450 to 460 men crossed the NAM (南) River on 31 Aug 50, 150 men proceeded with the intention of reinforcing the neighboring unit (designation unknown) and 300 turned back to UIRYONG. The following morning, 1 Sep 50, 150 became casualties (killed or captured), 150 retreated, No unit at present in UIRYONG.

Field telephone UNA F-31 - 2 or 3. Telephone line ran from YOSU to UIRYONG along the road.
e. Intentions:
Before PW’s unit was pushed back approximately 4 miles into UIRYONG their primary objective as MASAN.
f. Morale:
PW’s morale was low since induction. Did not have any intention of fighting against his follow S. Koreans. He believed in democracy and was taken into NKPA against his will.
