PW’S limited military service and poor memory enabled him to ofter only limited information.
ESTIMATED STRENGTH: (As of 7 Sep 50)Rifleman armed with M1899/30 rifles, 100 rounds, 2 grenades.

60 men were armed and 30 men were unarmed, The Co had no other weapons besides rifles and PPSh SMG’s,
PERSONAL AND UNIT HISTORY:Inducted on 24 Aug 50 at YONGJU. PW and 1,000 men left YONGJU without any military training and arrived at ANDONG on 25 Aug, Departed ANDONO on 26 Aug, Marched - arrived UISONG on 27 Aug. Approx 15 km S of UISONG, PW and 1,000 men were assigned to various units in the 8th Div, Because of a shortage of weapons, PW and 300 men were not issued rifles and were utilized as ammo bearers.
On 6 Sep, PW deserted from his unit because he felt helpless without weapons.
ARMOR:Ten (10) U/I Tanks, advancing toward YONGCHON, were observed at 2 km S of UISONG on 5 Sep 50.
ARTILLERY:Five (5) truck-drawn 76 mm M1942 AT guns observed on 25 Aug at ANDONG.
FOOD AND AMMO SUPPLIES:PW stated that they confiscated rice from YONGJU farms. Received average of one rice ball a day,
PW also states that most of ammo supplies were carried by SK civilians under protest from village to village. This operation was similar to relay system.
ENEMY INTENTIONS:Objective of 8th Div was YONGCHON via PALGOA-SAN (八公山)
SOUTH KOREAN SENTIMENTS:PW stated that every time the Peoples Army marches through a village, it never fails to confiscate ox-carts, cows or food. Consequently, villagers despise the North Korean Forces entering a village.
