2. ASSESSMENT:
Captured by elements of 2d Bn, 5th RCT. During interrogation PW was in good physical condition. Cooperative, but illiterate, and could not offer any information as to locations and place names. Information should be assessed accordingly.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
PW was formerly a CNA soldier and was captured by the CCF o/a Dec 49 and held prisoner until Dec 50. O/a Dec 50 conscripted by the CCF and was assigned to his present unit. O/a 15 Dec 50 the 26th Army left CHINA for KOREA. In latter part of Dec 50 the 26th Regt crossed the YALU River. O/a 7 Mar 51 the 26th Regt crossed the 38th parallel. 26th Regt bivouaced a few miles S of the 38th parallel for 2 days. On 9 Mar, 3d Bn proceeded S and traveled for 7 days arriving at place of capture vic CS 570780 o/a 160500 Mar 51. Upon arrival in vic of Hill 678 CS 554757 3d Bn occupied position formerly dug by other CCF units and was ordered to defend position. O/a 191100 Mar 51 8th Co position was attacked by UN forces. By 191200 Mar 51 Pw position was overrun and disorganized. Descended the hill and surrendered to elements of 2d Bn, 5th RCT.

b. PW Unit:
26th Army was part of 9th Army Group of the 3d Field Army. 746th Div composed of 26th, 27th, and 28th Regt.
