Although cooperative, military information is limited because of short period of service. No evaluation given to the reliability of this report because this is initial report regarding so-called 21st NK Division.
a. Chronology:
Conscripted into NKA 12 Jan 51 at KWANGJU (CS4049) and sent to ICH'ON (CS6227) with 21 other conscriptees where they underwent ten days of basic infantry training.
After completion of training, returned KWANGJU 25 Jan 51, and assigned to VII Corps, 21st Div, 25th Regt, 13th Bn, 3d Co, 5th Plat, 1st Sqd as a rice bearer. Heard from sqd ldr that VII Corps, had been recently organized. Did not know from what units Corps personnel were from. 30 new conscriptees in his company.
2 Feb 51, VII Corps moved to KWANAK-SAN (CS2046), arriving 7 Feb 51. 3d Co, 13th Bn, 25th Regt, secured positions on the summit of the mountain (KWANAK-SAN).
22 Feb 51, because of constant UN air attacks and insufficient food and ammo, 3d Co withdrew N of KWANAK-SAN.
PW separated from unit during withdrawal. Captured at KWACHON (CS 224) 25 Feb 51 by South Korean police.
b. Location and Activities of Unit:
Heard from sqd ldr VII Corps was to stage a new offensive during latter Feb 51. Direction of attack South-Eastwardly with the intent of recapturing ICH'ON (CS6227).

3d Company suffered a few casualties as result of aerial attacks while at KWANAK Mountain.
d. Food, Ammo and Other Supplies:
Food obtained through confiscation. Troops fed twice daily in meager quantities. Because of insufficient food supply, soldiers frequently left their units to search for food.
Ammo supply never replenished during short stay with the unit.
e. Signal:
Runners used between platoons.
f. Morale:
Morale low because of insufficient amount of food and clothing.
g. Psychological Warfare:
Captured by ROK police 25 Feb 51 at KWACH'ON (CS 2244). Observed many leaflets but not able to read them because illiterate.
