Captured by elements of G Co, 19th RCT. PW was in good physical condition. Cooperative, but of below average intelligence. PW was a former Pvt in the CNA. Not recommended for further interrogation.
a. Chronology:
O/a 22 Feb 51, 339th Regt withdrew across the HAN River and proceeded to vic CS620583, bivouacked until 8 Mar 51. 081900 Mar 51 3d Bn arrived at place of capture (CS621572) and dug in. O/a 091400 Mar 51 attacked by elements of 19th RCT. PW wanted to surrender but was unable to because Plat Ldr kept constant watch over his men. After the Plat Ldr was killed, PW and another soldier surrendered.

c. Disposition:
As of 081900 Mar 51 7th Co was approx 100 meters N of place of capture. As of 8 Mar 51 3d Bn was vic CS620585 but PW believes Bn has moved. O/a 4 Mar 51 heard from Plat Ldr that the 1st and 2d Bn of 339th Regt were in reserve vic Hill 436 CS628578. As of 081900 Mar 51 8th Co was approx 1.2 km W of 7th Co while 113th Div Guard Co was a few meters E of 7th Co.
d. Intentions:
5th Co mission, to defend area vic CS621572. 38th Army mission, to defend positions N of HAN River.

f. Replacements:
Approx 1 month ago 1 man from each Co was sent to get replacements but none have arrived as yet. O/a 2 Mar 51 PW was told by an officer of the 339th Regt that replacements will arrive within 15 days and the regt would be put in reserve.
g. Psychological Warfare:
PW picked up UN leaflet but PW is illiterate. Heard others read contents of leaflet and decided to surrender but did not have the opportunity. Heard ground broadcast twice and decided to surrender but was under constant watch by NCO. O/a 28 Feb 51 heard broadcast from plane, however, due to its high altitude was not able to understand.
h. Morale:
Morale low due to lack of supplies and constant aerial bombardment. Majority of men are tired of fighting.
