In good physical condition at interrogation. Cooperative, but of below average intelligence. In the CNA for 2 yr and held rank of Pvt. Conscripted into the CCF in Jun 47. Information is considered fairly reliable. Not recommended for further interrogation.
a. Chronology:
O/a 3 Mar Guard Co attached to 3d Bn, due to shortage of frontline troops. Guard Co Hq was on top of Hill 937 vic CS701543 10 Mar 51. Regt Hq was approx 4 km NW of PW Co. Due to intense shelling and UN air strikes, PW Co withdrew NW 100800 Mar 51. PW and 6 others, intending to surrender, instead of withdrawing with Co, went to a valley and rested until dusk. Then walked NE until captured by elements of 21st RCT 102100 Mar 51.

d. Intentions:
When Guard Co was attached to 3d Bn, Co CO stated that their mission was to defend position at all cost.
e. Food & Ammo:
Rice and flour received Regt Hq. Marking on rice bags are Chinese, therefore believes that it came from CHINA.
Ammo on hand is the ammo brought when unit entered KOREA.
f. UN Leaflets:
O/a 20 Feb 51 heard from a friend the contents of leaflet. PW and many others desire to surrender but due to constant watch by superiors, it was impossible.
g. Broadcast:
O/a 20 Feb 51 heard broadcast from plane but due to it being inaudible, message did not have any effect.
h. Composition:
No knowledge other than 38th Army which is composed of 112th, 113th and 114th Div.
