1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

2. ASSESSMENT:
PW cooperative. Reliability is fair.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
3 Jan 51 - PW joined P’YONGYANG Partisan Section at P’YONGYANG and were assigned to #2 Comm Plat. At 2400 hr #2 Comm Plat; strength of 18 men departed P’YONGYANG on truck for HWACH’ON (CT 8617).
8 Jan 51 - 0300 hr; 18 men arrived HWACH’ON.
10 Jan 51 - 18 men departed HWACH’ON on foot. Headed south.
17 Feb 51 - 1600 hr; 17 men arrived TASURI (approx 4km NW of PYONGCHANG) via HONGCH’ON and HOENGSONG.
22 Feb 51 - 1800 hr; 15 men departed TASURI for SUGAM NI (both PW remained at TASURI) where they joined 2nd NKA.
23 Feb 51 - 1200 hr; departed TASURI on foot for SUGAM NI because Plat Ldr did not return for them. At 1830 hr; arrived SUGAM NI, but due to UN planes, they hid. Did not contact Plat.
24 Feb 51 - 1700; captured.

b. Organization & Strength:
P’YONGYANG Partisan Section has the following districts: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th.
3 Jan 51, 6 plat organized at P’YONGYANG. Each Plat; 18 men, received a set of wireless equipment and mission was to make contact with 6th District Units. 6 Plats dep P’YONGYANG that night, at intervals. 2nd Comm Plat arrived HWACH’ON 8 Jan 51 and wireless set was disassembled and parts carried by individuals.
While enroute to TASURI talked to members of 1st, 3rd, and 5th Plat heading for HONGCH’ON and who showed them receipts that they had turn over their wireless sets to their respective district units and were then reporting back to a relay station, located within HONGCH’ON.
(Note: Relay station had moved from HWACH’ON.) 2nd, 4th, and 6th Plat located behind UN line of defense. Believes 2nd District Units are at CR 9045 with a strength of 200. When captured PW carried a condenser and it was confiscated by UN troops.
#2 Comm Plat (17 men) had following weapons: 11 M-1 rifles 20 rd ea, 4 Russ rifles 20 rd ea, 1 carbine 30 rd, and 1 Russ carbine 25 rd.

d. Transportation:
Road between P’YONGYANG and HWCH’ON passable and no bridges destroyed when 2nd Comm Plat travelled from 3-8 Jan 51 on truck. Only hazard was thawing snow which left road in a quagmire.

e. AAA:
There is an unk number of AA guns situated within P’YONGYANG.
