1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

2. ASSESSMENT:
Not cooperative and showed signs of fear. Had no education. Made contradictory statements. Military service - 20 days. Reliability is poor.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology
1 Feb 51 - Conscripted at CHUNCHON (CS 8893) with 10 others, and assigned to 7th Div, 2nd Regt, 2nd Bn. 2nd Bn departed CHUNCHON.
9 Feb 51 - Bn arrived HOENGSONG, marching only at night thru mountain paths.
10 Feb 51 - Departed HOENGSONG.
15 Feb 51 - Arrived 12km N of WONJU.
16 Feb 51 - Bn departed.
18 Feb 51 - Arrived YONGWOL (DS 5415).
20 Feb 51 - Arrived CHUNCHON NI (DS 3525). PW fell out of march due to stomach trouble and Bn continued towards TOMPO RI (4km N of CHUNCHON NI).
21 Feb 51 - PW captured.

b. Organization, Strength, and Weapons: (as of 20 Feb 51)

Casualties (2nd Bn) 1 Feb to 21 Feb 51, 10 men KIA by arty, 5 men sick - hearsay

c. Supply:
Food: Procured from villages. 2 meals per day.
Ammo: All men of rifle company (5th Co) issued 100 rd of rifle ammo 2 Feb 51 at CHUNCHON. Heard ammo was brought from rear by ammo bearers.
Clothing: New conscripts issued second hand winter uniforms 1 Feb 51 at CHUNCHON. Heard these uniforms were from CCF. Men in Bn all wore similar uniforms.

d. Morale:
Morale was low - troops were exhausted from night marches thru mountain paths. However, no one dared to complain due to fear of political officers, who kept constant watch. No deserters observed by PW.

e. Political Indoctrination:
Troops of 2nd Bn were told that their mission was to defeat and drive out from KOREA, the UN aggressors at the earliest possible date.

f. Night Bombing, Strafing, Flares:
None experienced by 2nd Bn from PW date of conscription (1 Feb 51) to date of capture (21 Feb 51).
