Evaluation:
PW was cooperative but information was limited duo to his short period of military service. PW’s company was never issued weapons nor received training, Reliability - fair.

Military History:
20 Jul 50 - PW was conscripted into the NKPA, PW and 123 other S. Korean conscripts received ROK National Defense uniforms in SEOUL.
22 Jul 50 - The 124 men left SEOUL by train.
23 Jul 50 - Reached OH’UNCH’ON and departed there some day.
24 Aug 50 - The 124 men reached KASAN-MYON via MUN'GYONG and HAMCH’ANG (咸昌). PW learned that he was in the 3rd Co, 1st Bn, 1st Regt, 1st Div.
The 124 men had no weapons. The front line N. Korean troops retreated on the night of 24 Aug 50. Since the troops in the 3rd Co did not have any weapons they retreated. PW and 3 others wanted to surrender so they remained behind while the rest of the troops retreated.
29 Aug 50 - PW and 3 others were discovered by ROK policemen and were handed over to the ROK troops.
Note: PW did not know the location of other units.

Weapons and Personnel:
3rd Co (1st Bn 1st Regt, 1st Div) - The 124 EM in the 3rd Co were all conscripted in SEOUL. Platoon leaders were armed with US Carbines and the Co Commander had a pistol.
The Co Commander (name unknown) of the 3rd Co was a deserter from the ROK Army.

Capability of Unit:
40% of the men in the 3rd Co did not want to fight against ROK troops. The remaining 60% were Communists who were willing to fight.

Armor:
PW observed 4 x T-34/85 tanks at MUN'GYONG o/a 5 Aug 50.

Artillery:
PW observed 2 x 45mm Gun at KUNWI o/a 20 Aug 50

Vehicles:
PW observed 5 trucks (load unknown) at MUN'GYONG o/a 5 Aug 50,

Supplies:
Troops ate twice a day. Received food from local farmers.
