Evaluation:
PW was of low intelligence and had a poor memory. Information is considered unreliable.

Military History:
Inducted 13 Apr 50, CHINNAMP’O (鎭南浦). PW remained at CHINNAMP’O for three months basic trng (13 Apr - 5 Jul 50).
5 Jul 50 PW and the entire 27th Regt departed CHINNAMP’O by rail - arrived SEOUL 14 Jul 50.
Departed SEOUL 14 Jul 50 - marched - arrived TAEJON date unknown Jul 50.
Departed TAEJON date unknown Jul 50 - marched - arrived KUMCH’ON (金泉) c!ate Unknown Aug 50.
Departed KUMCH’ON date unknown Aug 50 - marched - arrived 3 km West of NAKTONG River 27 Aug 50.
Upon reaching this point (3 km W of NAKTONG R), the 5th Co was ordered by the 2nd Bn CO (27 Aug 50, 2400 hrs) to dig individual fox holes along the NAKTONG River (300 m W of NAKTONG R). 28 0600 Aug 50, PW’s unit (2nd Plt) was attacked by US troops. During the attack PW hid in his fox hole. After the firing ceased PW was taken prisoner by “E” Co, 7th Cav Regt. During the attack, troops of the 2nd Plt, fled without fighting. Only the ones who remained (two) in their holes were captured.

Personalities:
Co CO - HONG SONG P'IL (洪聖弼) (홍성필), rank Jr Lt, age 35 yrs approx.

Weapons and Personnel:
Co - 100-150 men, Plt - 40 men, Sqd - 10 men. Riflemen armed with M1891/30 rifles, 40 rounds, two grenades. Sqd ldrs - M1891/30 rifles or submchine guns. Men armed with submachine guns had two 70 round drums. Officers TOKAREV M1933 pistols. Inf Co 1 x MAXIM HMG M1910, 12 x DP LMG, 180 rounds per LMG. No replacements for men or equipment (28 Aug 50).

Armor:
Observed 3 x T-34/85 tanks (place name unk) about four days march S from KUMCH’ON, 25 Aug 50.

Supplies:
PW received average of two meals par day after departing CHINNAMP'O on 5 Jul 50 until date of capture. Ammunition last received KUMCH’ON, date unknown, Aug 50, was 40 rounds per man. Source of supplies, unk.

Enemy Intentions:
Objective of 10th Div - TAEGU.

Additional Information:
o/a 20 Aug while 2nd platoon was in KUMCH’ON they were bombed and strafed by planes, type unknown. The bombing and strafing lasted about a half hour causing 6 casualties in the platoon of 40 men, including two dead.
