Military History:Inducted 4 Jul 50 at CHINNAMP’O (鎭南浦). Trained 20 days at CHINNAMP’O.

Departed CH'UNGJU 20 Aug 50 - marched - arrived at unknown village at a foot of mountain, approx 10 km South of SAMSIPNIKOGAE (三十里고개).
Departed above mentioned point and arrived 4 km South of KUNWI 21 Aug 50. From this point marched and arrived 6 km South to a village on a road. This point unknown to PW. Arrived 23 Aug 50. The PW stated approximately 1,000 troops referred to as the 1st and 2nd battalions which were replacement battalions arrived at 4 km South of KUNWI on 21 Aug 50 and were separated. PW does not know where the 1st replacement battalion went. The 2nd replacement battalion proceeded 6 km South, where it received M1891/30 rifles, and 200 rds ammunition.
PW was told he was in the 3rd Sqd, 1st Plt, 9th Co, 3rd Bn, 2nd Regt, 1st Div, 21 Aug 50. Here, the 2nd Bn was charged to 3rd Bn of the 2nd Regt, 1st Div. 6 Aug 50 the 9th Co proceeded south for 2 km. They were attacked by heavy fire from ROK troops. After the firing was over orders from ROK troops to surrender was given. PW obeyed the order and was captured. PW stated until he was captured he did not observe the 1st Div of the 2nd Rest nor had heard of it. No other organization known to PW.

Weapons and Personnel:3rd Bn - 500 men, 9th Co - 160 men, 1st Plt, 45 men, 3rd Sqd - 10 men. Riflemen all armed with M1891/30 rifle. 200 rounds. Sqd ldr armed with M1891/30 rifles, 200 rounds. Officers with pistols. No other weapons observed by PW in the 3rd Battillon.
Vehicles:Observed 5 x trucks loaded with boxes 24″ x 24″ in the town of KUNWI night of 21 Aug 50.
Supplies:Food supply was very poor, ate one meal a day, two if lucky. Meal was mixed rice, wheat and potatoes. Food taken from villages. Ammunition received when rifle was issued on 23 Aug 50,
