1. PERSONAL DETAILS:

DATE & PLACE OF CAPTURE: 1300 hr 12 Feb 51 at HOENGSONG
INTERROGATOR: Sgt OKI

2. ASSESSMENT:
PW was willing to talk, but due to his poor observation, information is not reliable.

3. TACTICAL INFORMATION:
a. Chronology:
8 Feb 51 PW came across 38th Parallel with 66th Army, 196th Div, 197th Div and 198th Div (estimated strength 7-8000 each).
12th Feb 51 observed 591st Regt (estimated strength: 2,000) dug in on a hill side 2 km N of HOENGSONG where PW was captured. 12 horses used to carry weapons and ammo of his Co.
157th Div (estimated strength: 7000 or 8000) composed of 590th Regt, 591st Regt and one other Regt whose designation is unknown.
His Regt was between those two Regt at HOENGSONG. 8 Feb 51 heard from his Bn CO, LEE that their destination of advance was TAEJON (Tactics: Piecemeal)

b. Weapons:
Weapons of 591st Regt consisted of Jap rifles, SMG, 3-4 LMG to each Co, 2x82mm mortars (to his Co, 30 rd each), 5 HMG in his Co, and 4 hand grenades per man.

c. Uniform:
All wore winter uniforms.

d. Ammo:
Ammo supply insufficient (80 rd each).

e. Disease:
10 frostbite cases in his Co 8 Feb 51.

f. Morale: Morale was low due to the shortage of food and clothing supply.
