Circumstance of Capture:
Prisoner and four others, including one of his subordinated and one liaison man from Regimental Headquarters, were ordered to contact the 3rd Division Headquarters located 4 km east of WAEGWAN in the mountains. However, Division Headquarters had already evacuated its position and could not be found. Prisoner and his men were captured by American troops while sleeping.

At 0300 on the 9th of August, troops of the 7th Regiment began to cross the NAKTONG River by wading, cheat deep, though the slow flowing river. By 0400, all the Infantry weapons had been transported across by the men.

Supplies:
1. Food:
Rice was taken from occupied areas. Usually farmers were given receipts for rice and vegetables consumed by troops.
2. Ammunition:
Gasoline and equipment were transported by trucks to the units.

Mission:
Prisoner heard from his Regimental Commander that their mission was to capture TAEGU.

Tanks:
Two T-34 (85) medium tanks were observed 15 kmg northwest of WAEGWAN.

Troops of Other Nationalities:
One Russian advisor was observed at CHORWON.

Antiaircraft:
Prisoner head the sound of antiaircraft at KYONGSONG.

Political and Subversive Activities:
Anti-South Korean Propaganda
(a) The South Korean are starting because foreigners have increased.
(b) North Korea and South Korea must have unification; in order to do this, the foreigners must be driven out.
(c) South Korean guerilla activities are increasing in North Korea.

Source of Equipment:
USSR and PYONGYANG, KOREA. Name of factory, (former Japanese Heikisho) Korean manufactured weapons are superior because they are newer.

American PW’s:
Prisoner observed two American PW’s at PYONGYANG Railroad Station on the 1st of August 1950. Their hands were not bound; one was tall and heavy built, the other was short and medium built; both had blond hair. They were fatigue clothing.
