Captured vicinity KAECHON on or about 1 Dec 50 by CCF. Taken to abandoned mine approx 4 km north of KAECHON. There observed approx 500 American PsW of US 2nd Div (38th Regt?), approx 20 ROK PsW and 7 tanks. Escaped on or about 6 Dec 50. Recaptured 8 km away by 15th Regt, 6th Div (NKA). Traveled with this unit until 051630 Jan 51 and escaped at HOPAN-NI disguised as a NKA Captain. Strength of 15th Regt approx 500. Prior to escape overheard NK soldiers state that II Corps, 38th Div, and 6th Div were to proceed to WONJU D80634 at 052100 Jan 51 to envelop UN forces there. 2nd Corps (NK) to deploy to the rear of UN forces in WONJU, the 38th and 6th Div to the east and north, passed through HONGCHON CS0272 5 Jan 51 (no enemy or UN troops seen) and arrived YONGDOGWON-NI C89164. Departed 060640 Jan and proceeded south-west along road. Approx 6 km south-west of YONGDOGWON-NI observed 27th Div, 1st Regt (NK) in houses along both side of road. From SINDANG-NI to TOKSU-RI CS7742 observed approx 2 Bns of CCF. Subject spoke to Korean interpreter. Was told that large force was to come up from rear soon.
