PW was fairly cooperative, answered questions freely. However, knowledge of military information was very limited. Information obtained here-in is considered fairly reliable.

3. MILITARY HISTORY:Inducted 1 Jul 50 at PYONG YANG. Received no training. PW was stationed at PYONG YANG RR station as security force.
On 4 Aug 50 PW departed PYONG YANG for SEOUL with 160 others by rail. PW and 160 others departed for JOCH’WON (鳥致院) on 11 Aug 50.
Marched at night, unit arrived on 13 Aug 50.
On 1 Sep 50 unit of 160 men departed for OSAN (烏山) and arrived on 3 Sep 50.
4. CIRCUMSTANCE OF CAPTURE:On 26 Sep 50 PW and 5 others desertod and headed for NAM YANG (南陽) The group arrived NAM YANG on 28 Sep 50 and was captured.
5. SUPPLIES:All supplies were furnished from the Brig HQs in SEOUL by carts. PW stated that food supply was inadequate for the troops.
6. MORALE:60% of the troops were anti-communist, and forced to join the army. Commands were not carried out properly, and morale was very low
No surrender leaflets were observed.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
PW believes that the RR Brig HQs was located in SEOUL.
The 2134 Unit strength was estimated as about 160. PW believes that there were 9 Bns attached to the RR Brig, One unknown Bn was believed to be in the KUM CHON (金泉) area.
PW stated that approx half of the troops were equipped with rifles and carried 100 rds of ammo each.
